Scott Pilgrim vs the World

Re: Scott Pilgrim vs the World

This seems actually like a movie for... little kids. Just does not impress me or giving me the feeling like I am willing to watch it anytime sooner. Hope you are gonna' have fun watching it :).

EDIT: Also that girl. Ramona. She is just ugly. Really ugly.

Re: Scott Pilgrim vs the World

Fairly certain I'll be seeing it soon (today or Wednesday?) looks great.

little kids..? Really? Well if thats so it seems to of captivated even more age groups then im sure it intended. Im sure it wasnt aimed for "little kids" as you put it. i dont think i would be comfortable showing a young child this film.

Re: Scott Pilgrim vs the World

This film was definitely not made for little kids. I'm fairly certain it has a few mature themes.

I have a friend who is really into the Scott Pilgrim books, and he went to see the midnight showing for this movie. He was expecting it to suck because a lot of movies based off of books, video games, TV shows, etc. do suck, but he said it was awesome. I've never read any of the books, but I'll take a gander at the movie once it's out on DVD.

Re: Scott Pilgrim vs the World

After seeing the previews, i want the cinemas experience more than the at home teli experience. it seems well worth it.

Re: Scott Pilgrim vs the World

so far it has a higher rating on rotten tomatoes than kickass. and contrary to kickass i want to see it. looks good, i've heard good things, and it actually stars michael sera rather than a michael sera knockoff.

DO WANT

Re: Scott Pilgrim vs the World

I literally just walked out of the movie. It was a fun movie. I can't remember the last movie I had fun at. Inception made you think, Scott pilgrim makes you wanna ... Fight?

You didn't want to see Kick-Ass? It was awesome. At least rent it. It's out on DVD now.

Oh, and it's Cera, not Sera.

My favorite movie Michael Cera's been in is still Superbad.

correction: i didn't want to see it. past tense. i got coaxed into seeing it and my instincts were correct. kickass was one of the worst movies of the decade for me.

Re: Scott Pilgrim vs the World

Looks modertatley interesting. I like the comic book thingies they have going on.

Aw, that's disappointing. Why didn't you like it?

Re: Scott Pilgrim vs the World

I didn't really like Kick-Ass. This new modern American humour isn't for me... Superbad, Kick-Ass, etc. This looks... Ok, I suppose.

Pineapple Express was amazing though.

everything. terrible acting, poor storytelling, bad costume designing, bad soundtrack, nicholas cage is in it. apart from choreography i'd say kickass deserves zero stars on every single section.

scott pilgrim on the other hand, was sweet. i saw it yesterday and loved it. cool premise for a film, well filmed, musically it was unbelievable. it didn't borrow from what's popular and instead got it's own soundtrack that worked perfectly with the film. what's more, they hired one of my favorite musical artists (Beck) to help out with it.

scott pilgrim is the anti-kickass.

I just watched an advert saying this film was made by the people that made Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, two of the best things to come out of England. I'll watch this sometime, it has piqued my curiosity.

Re: Scott Pilgrim vs the World

I don't see what all the hype is for, it reminds me of Spy Kids 3D, which isn't exactly a bad thing if you're 9.

I did watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall recently though, which is a great film so I'll have to catch Get him to the greek at some point.

Simon Pegg was involved in the making off both of them.

Maybe I'll see it after a while. It has 8.4 on IMDB... Which is higher than Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead.

I doubt it'll be better though. Those two films are just... Superior.
