So, Uh, my laptop just died.

So, Uh, my laptop just died.

So. Anybody know why my laptop might have suddenly stoppped working?

When I hit the power button the status lights turn on, and when I let it go the power light stays on. But it doesn't start up. Or make any noise.

I carried it around for part of today and then it sat in my car for a couple hours. I'm afraid that may have ****ed it for some reason. But it's not like it was that hot today or anything.

Hm that's pretty weird, try taking the battery out, and take a look at it, put it back in and then try again.

Tried that. Didn't work. Though, prior to doing that the power light wasn't staying on when I hit the power button.

So it's improving! I'm sure of it!

Battery could have burned out. See if you can charge it up fully and try again.

I've had it plugged in the whole time.

Sephi, not touching that one with a thirty nine and a half foot pole. But if I were, say, Tsuyu, I could make a lot out of that post.

That's because you get them dirty. Open them up once in a while and vacuum out the dust, the heat will never plague you again.

No my friend, then that means my FRIENDS get them dirty. I myself have never actually owned a laptop. I just used my friends to play Half life 2 & Portal once, all the way through, and it got hot on my lap, even through a giant pillow. :lol:

Going to get the Great And All Powerful [insertmylastnamehere] Family Tech Support to take a look at it whenever I see that brother of mine next.

But I'm worried. Afraid I might've banged it against something and ****ed it up. Or fried it leaving it in the car. Or something.

Ah, I see. No problem, I fix laptops all the time and that's the most common problem I have to fix so I thought I'd just throw it out there.

Neither do pigeons and alka-seltzer, but I do it anyways. Laptops = fail in my novice opinion. Unless they're the sick gaming laptops.

I second that, apart from the gaming laptops bit - you're still paying thousands for something you can get quarter the price in a desktop. To add to that, it's extremely difficult to upgrade a laptop and much easier to break.
