Social Groups for you!

For those who haven't yet taken a good look at their all singing all dancing profile (shame on you!), there is a particular little function you may be interested in - the ability, nay, the privilege, to create SOCIAL GROUPS! (cue cheers, champagne corks etc). This is your opportunity to make a group dedicated to pretty much anything you like so long as it keeps within the forum rules - except the spam one. If you want to make a spam group, go nuts - just don't break any of the other rules. If you don't know what the forum rules are, please take the time to have a little looky here and then head on over to your profile section to make a nice new group dedicated to me...er, I mean whatever you like.*

So yeah - enjoy this little featurette and if you have any queries or find any issues when creating the group of your choice, just fire a PM/visitor message to any of the staff and they'll be sure to look blank and ask projectego what the hell to do. Well, that's what I'll be doing anyway...

And for reference, the Social Groups feature is hardly used here.

They don't, so everything's fine. Arseface is right though, the social groups are hardly used these days so I guess people don't find them cool anymore.

It's because they suck, if there was some reason to have them and a little bit more features to them they'd be cool.

I mean the only category you can have if uncategorised, when you have an image it doesn't show unless your on the group page. I'm sure if there more features in it, it would be used more often.

yeah, they probably could be more incorporated. i do use them from time to time, though. just a few days ago i made this one.
but it's only a matter of time before it gets forgotten. to be honest, it's one of the last things that comes to mind when i go online. if social group discussions were to trigger notifications, or get their own optional side bar, or someting i could see them being used much more often.
