Solution to Importing Fable II save into Fable III

I don't even wanna complete Fable II... WHAT THE HELL?!?
Could make it till Friday I guess, but nah.. I'll watch a movie and complain about the Americans getting the game three days before me.. those lucky.. jerks!

I wish! I'm an American and yet my pre-order from Gamestop has yet to arrive, despite the guaranteed street date delivery! :@ Last time I order from them. Looks like I'm in the same boat as you Brits. Why is the US release earlier than the UK release, anyway? Lionhead is a British company, after all.

Thanks for clearing up the import issue, Froggy! It's not exactly intuitive, is it...

It's the same with every game...Anyway Lionhead don't get to decide the release. Pretty sure it's all Microsoft there.

Well that hardly seems fair. Why should us fat, stupid Americans always get games first, even when they're made in another country? It's unconscionable, I tell you! Let's riot!

Actually, I totally wouldn't be complaining if my copy had arrived yesterday like it was supposed to. :P

Iknorite. Usually the big ass games get a world wide release. Halo, COD, MGS4 and FFXIII are a few which all got the tuesday release date.

Ah, I was wondering which it chose. My first F2 playthru I accidentally took the damn potion... and became queen. Second time, I just started off female. The goal was to get the potion and trade it to my original char to get him back to King. Never really got around to that. Just beat the Great Spire though, I probably finish that up one of these days. If I transfer all my F2 data to a memory card and remove it, will it refer to me as the child of the Hero King, by default? I wonder....

Does anyone know if the save is still carried over if your Fable 2 character never had children? Also, what "proof" is there that anything is carried over in the first place? Any added reward other than JUST dialogue? Perhaps additional renown/fame, purity, etc from your supposed parent?

I don't know what other rewards you might receive or other references might be made to the Fable II character, but I believe that regardless of whether your Fable II character had kids, as long as you have a save from Fable II you will be referred to as the son or daughter of the king/queen from Fable II. It implies that your FII character had fictional kids in the intervening time between II and III.

I wish it would give us our Fable 2 persons weapons now that would be awesome! But they would have to give it to you at the end game or otherwise you would never really need another weapon.

In F2 even if you take the potion in the end the game recognizes you as what you were before hand, so if you were a man who became a women, the game still thinks you're a man. IE if you had the DLC into the future or whatnot the end scene would portray you as king, even if you were no longer "equipped".

Not just Microsoft as if you hadnt noticed nearly every game for all platforms are always released on a Friday in UK besides the games that have a worldwide release (GTA IV, Halo 3 and Halo Reach for example). Never found out the reason why but thats just the way it is, things are released in US on Tuesday and Friday in UK.

how exactly does FIII detect your FII hero? I've gotten pretty far in FIII already, I had an evil male hero in FII, and it's mentioned a king, so is that who walter and other people reference?

Bingo. Fable III looks to the last Fable II save you loaded to get the gender of your Fable II hero. It then refers to him/her as your father/mother, the king/queen. That's it.

it does import your save automatically for example if u make a boy on fable 2 and thats your main profile go on fable 3 and at start of game walters all like its time to be your fathers son/daughter so it imports automatically

meh... i decided not to spend the money and just wait till my 16th bday (8 days :D) but what is this i hear about f3 (funny, i use that to talk about fallout 3 too) not reading your f2 save? does it make a difference? will it be fixed?

Basically the previous save file doesn't make any actual difference to the game apart from your mum or dad being the previous king or queen. When they said the previous game will transfer on to your new game, I thought it'd be like mass effect where the import actually effects the new game.

Maybe something they should've thought about was at the end of Fable 2 was the final descision (which was pretty epic):
If you took the money for yourself - You were given some extra money to start in fable 3
If you saved your dog and rose - she should make a small appearence as an old woman or something in f3.
If you saved the population - They should give you lots of gifts etc or should be more easily influenced by your friendship.
