Speculative: The Court of Blades
If you feel I'm thinking too hard about these things, I understand. I just like researching the stories of games, books, etc. XP
If you've read the Fragments of the Old Kingdom on the Tales of Albion website then you've undoubtedly seen the entries about the Court of Blades - Jack, Knight, and Queen. Obviously, we've all seen Jack in the original Fable. I have a feeling though that we'll be seeing all three of them at some point or another; chances are if Jack survived then the other two did as well. So without further ado, here's some fun stuff I noticed about them.
First, it's important to note the order they come in. Jack seems to always come first everytime he's mentioned, then Knight, then Queen. I think it's safe to assume that they'll come back in the same order in the Fable series. That said, I don't think we'll be seeing Knight in Fable 2, necessarily; Peter M has said that there might be three more Fable games. Who knows, though. I guess Lucien might not be the final boss even if he is the main villain.
This leads me to my next point: The powers the Court seems to have. I think that, if you look at it with the "order" in mind, we can get an idea for the monster forms of each Court member.
First, the Court "burned Albion until the earth turned black and the sky was thick with smoke." This one's pretty obvious. It's Jack's giant dragon form, as seen at the end of Fable. I don't *think* we'll be seeing it again, although anything really is possible.
Second, they "lifted the sea into the sky and flooded the world". I suspect we're seeing what Knight's power is. What could he be though? There are many possibilities. All three members of the court could just be dragons with different abilities. Or he might be some sort of super-Kraken (which we saw one of in Fable) with control over the water itself (and the ability to take a human form like Jack, maybe?). Or he could be some other sort of creature that can control weather. Who knows? Any thoughts?
Finally (for tonight anyway, until I think of other things), we have "twisted their minds until brother slew brother, parents abandoned their children, and friend turned against friend". This one isn't very descriptive, although it's definitely the most dangerous. I'm gonna say it specifically refers to good ol' Queen of Blades. Sure, Jack was good at deceiving people, but was he able to turn all of Albion into raving lunatics? I suspect our dear Queen might have outright mind control. That's going to be nasty.
That's it for tonight. If anyone has any thoughts or would like to add something or wants to do some speculating of their own, go ahead. I'll look through the rest of the fragments and see if I find anything else interestin'.
Also: I'd almost definitely say Scythe will make a return later on in Fable 2.
EDIT: Oh, wait. It says Knight was destroyed first and was destroyed completely. Whoops. I guess we won't be seeing him, but we might be seeing the Queen at some point. Pity, I would have liked to have seen what he looks like
