No its works in the way that movies based on games = terrible poorly made cash ins for the most part. Silent Hill was average but i could tolerate it, i cant think of any more off top of my head.
Games based on movies also followed the same philosophy for the most part. Handful of exceptions that include Goldeneye & Chronicles Of Riddick though but they too are rare. Only reason those 2 were good is because they were well thought out and had good studios behind them. Rare in their peak and Starbreeze Studios and Tigon Studios.
