Square Enix agrees: The Playstation 3 is in big trouble

Square Enix President Yoichi Wada told reporters on Friday that Sony must change its strategy if it wants to see the release of the Playstation 4. According to Wada, "Sony first unveiled the PS3 as a mighty home electronics product. Then, after some badgering from game companies, it shifted the position of the console closer to a game machine. [The future of the PS3] would be tough if its marketing strategy is not straightened up."

The thing that I keep thinking about is that HUUUUUGE mass of PS2 Gamers yet to upgrade. I think Sony needs to discontinue the PS2 NOW! and then offer an upgrade program. That is where their strength is. If they wait to long people won't care as much if there old PS2 games will work on their new system. They care now that's for sure.

This could be the first step towards Square Enix doing just that, if they want to make their games financially beneficial they might have no choice.

Square Enix is releasing a game for the 360...but I don't believe it's exclusive...

Unfortunately, I cannot afford a PS3...I am a big PS2 fan...but it just doesn't seem like the PS3 is worth it for me.

Unfortunately, I cannot afford a PS3...I am a big PS2 fan...but it just doesn't seem like the PS3 is worth it for me.

Square Enix have always been a 3rd party company and free to make games for who they wish. Its just all their success came in the peak of both Sony consoles and although they have released games for other platforms because of this they remain loyal to Sony also the fact that they are loyal to Japanese companies. However from a business and profit standpoint i think they may re-evaluate things if Sony dont do something about it.

PS3 is a good system overall They just priced it way to high ... And I do care if PS@ games work with the PS3 Because I don't want to have 50 million things hooked up to my TV if I do get a ps3.

But Square is correct Sony is in trouble anmd if they don't change things it's gonna make them flop.

But Square is correct Sony is in trouble anmd if they don't change things it's gonna make them flop.

Not only that but also the lack of big titles and exclusives has hurt them badly and left most PS3 gamers twiddling their thumbs right now as to what to play.

Very very True...

But people are like 400 for X box 600 for PS3 or 250 for Wii..

Wii may not have the best graphics but the game play is awesome.
