Star Wars and Fable

I put the Hal's armor on my guy and dyed it white, and you know what? I look like a storm trooper. And then I though, "huh, if George Lucas and Peter Molyneux got together and put a little side quest about getting teleported to the death star or something that'd be awesome." Yes that's really fanboyish of me but if you could fight Yoda or Darth Vader (or someone else if you're nutral) and get a light sabre that changes color based on your alignment then that'd just be really awesome. I would buy a ton of live points to download that. What do all you think? They already made Fable bad enough incorperating Halo stuff into it.

Hmmm a quest that has references maybe or a villain like the emperor but not a quest where you go to the death star

It'd be way cooler if Lionhead and Lucasarts got together and just made a star wars version of fable. You could be a jedi or a sith and use experience to better yourself in lightsaber combat, blaster combat, and force powers (star wars version of strength, skill, and will lol). But I think we all know that wouldn't happen.

Or better yet, if George Lucas was crushed to death by his own belly and left Molyneux the rights to the whole Star Wars franchise so that someone with some basic storytelling skills could be in charge of the damn thing. Star Wars was always a cool concept, but George Lucas can't be trusted with it.

As for introducing Star Wars elements into Fable, that would be kind of like putting mustard on chocolate cake.

thats like soul calbur 4 came out i was like WTF yoda and sh!t??? lame....

I don't know why Link would be the choice for 360 as he's apart of nintendo, but I agree with you fully.

Lightsabers need to stay within Star Wars. And Lucasarts wouldn't work with Peter, they're better than that.

they have solid snake in ssbb and yes i know the metal gear started on the nes but SOLID snake is sonys now, so they could do it....

They could always just make a lightsaber blade but not call it a lightsaber. Like in Mortal kombat when Cyrax has the pulse blade as a weapon, or in SSBB with the beam swords.... And it would be more fable-ish to have it change color based on alignment. They shouyld have weapons and clothings like that....

How would an energy or laser-like weapon like that be justified in Fable? It wouldn't. That's another reason why hal's sword is retarded. Anyhoo, I love both Fable and Star Wars, but they should stay separate.

I believe the will torches (a mod by morerunes) were awesome and original ideas, yet, I still don't know how it'd fit in Fable 2. And you're starting to sound like some people on the boards. To go on an off-topic subject that relates to this, people are comparing the new Darksiders game to God Of War.

God of War set the new generation of Action games because it was such a great game, but now if an action game has the same basic mechanics, they're copying God Of War. Most worth-while action games had the same mechanics as each other long before that came out. That randomness just says that there were probably lightsaber "things" before Star Wars, maybe not. But now if something has anything like that, they're just "copying Star Wars".

If you want a lightsaber in Fable, then go ahead and ask for a hover car vehicle and a spaceship. The only reason they added Hal's Armor and his sword etc. etc. was to boost sales, make people by the limited edition.

A lightsaber thing would just be a parody. And it would be just one weapon, although, im pretty sure lionhead could try to actually work with lucas and have a nice starwars based sidequest, now that wouldnt be copying, but borrowing, or having guest appearances. And Halo was a microsoft game so it wouldnt be much a surprise as to have a Spartan Suit in the game.

Man, you are strict with stuff fitting. ANyway, its all just matters of opinion...
And I think a star wars based sidequest would be a terrible idea... i dont even now how you could fit it in.... lol. But it would be kickass to have a lightsaber-like weapon. We can have a willsaber. A hilt that channels will power into a sword. It could change damage type depending on what will ability you have recently used....

Hey ever heard of easter eggs? They are there just for fun and so are the clothes. They don't have to fit with the game, they are just for a bit of fun, for the player and the developer. And the Hals set was good, it was made to look more around the time of fable 2 rather than just a spartan suit.
I love it when Lionhead puts references or easter eggs in games. You can get a Jason Hockey Mask and other items that are references in their game the movies, its not in there so it fits with everything else, its in there to be a reference(+cool item) coz its a pop culture Icon. And so is the bikers outfit. Its part of pop culture that is recognized. If you like games where everything has to fit in and not be there for the fun of it, you must have no love for pop culture.

I know that these items are just easter eggs, but I'd prefer easter eggs like the frying pan from TLC. At least that's a real item in the Fable world, something that the people of Albion use.

And it's not like I hate pop culture, I just don't like references to it in my games. I used to be a huge Star Wars nerd, and I loved it more than anything (I still love it, I'm just not as into it as I used to be), and Fable 2 is my favorite video game, but I still wouldn't want references to one of them in a game of another.

Now hal's sword, rifle, and outfit is a different story for me personally. I would rather have the game randomly shift from Albion to a Star Wars setting half way through the story line than have this bullsh*t. I just hate the halo franchise, and putting references to it into one of the greatest game franchises ever is an insult to Fable.

Tell them to ruin their new game. E-mail them suggesting that they should have a poll on the topic, though it's pointless.

Basically, having a light-saber based off of the Star Wars realm of...well, anything. If they did, however, make a comepletely original side quest with a weapon that doesn't have "light" or "saber" in the name, and doesn't have any ties, even for a lame "easter-egg" joke, that still fits into the Fable setting, then maybe, maybe I wouldn't be upset.
