I actually heard about this when I was searching for "wookie monster". This sucks. I personally think that disney will ruin the series. They're going to make it a kiddie film or something. When I heard about this Lucasfilms had lost a big fan of star wars.

They have always been family friendly movies so Disney wouldnt need to make them appeal to any younger audiences than they already did.

Ha. Haha. BAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Expanded universe canon my white ass, have you READ the expanded universe? The very first expanded universe book had Luke killing Darth Vader, making out with Leia, and running off with a magic crystal that enhanced force powers.

Trying to stay to some kind of EU canon would be insane. On the other hand, if "Episode 7" ends up being "we made movies of the Timothy Zahn trilogy of novels" or even some of the other ones (I liked Courtship of Princess Leia, when I read it circa about 10 years old) I could get behind that.

I said canon. The book you read is most likely not canon, because it contradicts the films.

Dude. A) It had Luke killing Vader. It sure as hell isn't canon, given that that's kinda contraindicated. B) My point is that the EU as a whole is tangled mess that contradicts itself repeatedly. Did they TRY to maintain canonicity? Yeah. Did they succeed? Not really. Case in point, do you remember that really cool spaceship Jedi Academy from Episodes I-III? Cause I don't.

Well ok, let me rephrase it then. I want the films, if they are continuing the saga after episode 6, to be based off the expanded universe comics and novels that also continue the storyline, while keeping in with the film canon. Like the books featuring Anakin Solo and the like.

Your initial comment up there could be interpreted as you implying that someone was mad. Given that two out of three sentences are about a nebulous someone hypothetically being mad.

Now that I reread it you're right. I guess I just figured that since I hadn't quoted anybody, the whole "universal you" bit would be self evident. Clearly I was mistaken. I sincerely apologize to anyone in this thread who feels I have mislabeled them as angry. It was not my intention and I realize that while misreading an emotion is highly offensive, saying something that could possibly be interpreted that way is a far more grievous offense. Factor into the equation that the emotion in question was anger and it is obvious I have done something downright repulsive. I sincerely hope you all can forgive me, and I will personally do everything in my power to ensure that nothing of this magnitude ever stains your computer screens again.

Oh yes, me and the nebulous someone are quite close. I end up speaking to her a lot, at the risk of looking crazy.

EDIT: IT'S BACK FROM THE DEAD

You see, Star Wars has more fans who are more fanatical than most franchises. I guess I just figured that a large group of fans somewhere would be up in arms about it and that I better put the right vibes out into the world with the hopes of averting a disaster.

But dude! New Jedi Order sucks! Nothing from Vector Prime onward exists. And they also said that they weren't doing that already.

Aside from that, and my desire to see the same actors reprise their roles, I could get behind their mining some of the earlier books. Like the Thrawn trilogy.

Subsequent to reading your post, I went elsewhere and found a bunch of ****ed-off fanboys convinced that Disney planned to rape their childhoods. So you were right!

Is nebulous hot? She sounds hot.

I'm sorry for being an editing whore. The post you thought you knew was entirely different by the time you had finished quoting it. I hope the two of you can overcome your new-found differences and develop a healthy relationship together. <3

No, but seriously. I will edit all of that back in under the equally sarcastic paragraph I replaced it with for the sake of thread clarity.

And yes. Nebulous is hot. Not "hot," hot. Hot in the way that Hillary Clinton was probably hot once and bits of that remain, but it's buried under a thick lair of botox, srs bsns, and cheating husband ex-presidents.

The thing that gets me hot under the collar is Ahsoka Tano

Popular character of the animated series. Only one problem: all Jedis except those shown in the original saga are dead. I'm gonna have fun watching the writes cringe as they have to find a way to kill her off without upsetting everyone.

Just have Anakin kill her. I personally think it'll make for a tragic moment where she realises her master dosen't care about her anymore, and she dies alone and betrayed. As long as it's not a heroic sacrifice, I'll be fine with whatever way they kill her.

good, don't let it happen again i found it abhorrent.

is anyone else starting to think that the these films might not be as terrible as might have been thought at first? i was mortified to hear disney bought the film rights but actually, i dont think they'll be that bad. nobody likes the prequel trilogy and everybody knows it, i think disney would have to try harder to make worse films given the feedback they now have.

Well, for one, Disney most certainly have the financial backing and talent (as in people involved in the movie-making progress, not just actors) to make it work.
