I have a twin brother if any of you didn't know, and we are thinking of buying The Old Republic and playing it online together.

Would we have to buy 2 copies of the game, or could we buy another product key or something? What's the deal here?

Thanks in advance :)

I'd like to note that SW:TOR is absolutely worth it, so don't wait long! I love my level 26 Jedi Sage (although I was slow these days as I had early game access as well, but had a surgery anyway). Soon going to level a Sith Inquisitor. Nothing beats Sith lore and philosophy. Not to mention the atmosphere on Korriban!

Anyway, as far as I know, you can only get a product key by buying a copy, as each product registration key is unique, and thus bound to a maximum of only one account.

The only way to buy a product registration key as a stand-alone would be on sites such as eBay, I'd imagine, but these methods shouldn't (and most likely couldn't) be trusted.

However, it's only what I know so it might be that this is not 100% accurate. You could always e-mail the customer support service of Bioware to see what they have to say.

Star Wars the Old Republic is like Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect having children. It's beautiful and I have to say, it's one of the BEST MMO's I've EVER played and I've played a ton of 'em (From Ultima Online, EverQuest, Dark Age of Camelot, RF Online, Ragnarok Online, etc.) and I'm extremely impressed on how well Bioware has done with it and I look forward to updates and maybe some expansions (Hopefully they'll take their time on expansions).

You have to actually have a copy per account. The Product key AND "serial" key (Two different keys) are for your account.

What I did was (I was a Beta Tester, so I already had an account with them for a few years) was buy a digital copy. Add the Serial Key and Product Key to your Account. Then make a few secret questions. Then you could download the game right from their website. The download was surprisingly fast. It took me about 2 hours for a 12 - 14GB download.

As Gakoyu said, it's worth every penny.

I've got a level 28 Sith Sorcerer and I'm having a blast. The story line for each Class is really good, as well. The cut scenes are well done AND once you get used to the Starship fighting, it becomes pretty fun (I didn't like the controls at first).

On that note, on what server are you playing?

If EU, I'm on Uthar Wynn. Name is Alistair (Jedi Sage). :)

I play on a US East server: Krayiss Obelisk.

Main (Sith Sorcerer (DPS)): Epicdemic
Alt (Sith Assassin): Cataclysm
Alt (Sith Juggernaut): Epidemic
Alt (Sith Sorcerer (Healer)): Maelstrom

I've got a single Republic character (A Trooper), but I don't remember his name. Haha. I barely play the Light side.

So I bought it and tried to make an account on the website and I keep getting this error :'(

I've had this problem before.

Check your E-Mail and see if they sent a verification E-Mail. It might be inside your Junk Mail folder. If not, on their website, there's a "Customer Service" area. You can get in contact with them, submit a ticket, and they're pretty fast at replying.

No problem. If you plan on playing on the server I'm on and you and your brother are looking for a Guild, I'm one of the Officers of a pretty good Guild. Just hit me up if you're interested.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm on a European server called Bao-Dur :)

Pro-tip: Never choose servers that have famous Star Wars names in it. I chose Uthar Wynn when it wasn't that populated, and now there's a queue pretty often at times I'd like to log on.

So I went on and created a new (and this time Sith) character on Ula Vii EU, named Qu'uth.

I've never even watched a full Star Wars movie. But I want to try this game out. Is there any trial accounts to see if I like it?

I don't think so :( It's well worth it though if you like MMOs

^This.

I agree totally.

And sadly, there's no trial. If ever they release an invite trial, I'll definitely send it your way.

The game is worth every penny. It's a great MMO, one of the BEST I've ever played and like I've said, I've played A LOT of MMOs.

Figured I'd just leave this here.

I made a Star Wars the Old Republic PVP video.
