Star Wars" The Old Republic"

New game in the works. It's been made official. Bioware sent me an email to go check out the new game. It looks amazing from what I can see so far.
The Republic has white uniforms. I can't wait to play it.^_^
It may be a while before it's released, but it's nice to know a new game is finally in the works.
It starts 300 years past Knights, so it should be interesting. I have been waiting for this news for a very long time. I love Knights, and still play it.

I got the email too and reported on it on our Mass Effect and Bioware site. Shame its a PC only MMO though and i hope that the money made from this goes to fund KOTOR III.

Its an MMO and at the moment PC is the biggest platform for MMO titles. Arent many on consoles at the moment as they are usually pay to play (WoW style) and most console players dont like pay to play games.

Depending on sales and interest would depend on if a console version is made. I mean Dragon Age: Origins was PC exclusive to begin with (another Bioware title thats on way) however Xbox 360 and PS3 version has been announced recently. So Star Wars The Old Republic could make its way to consoles at some point still so theres hope. This title is not to be confused with KOTOR which is already on Xbox and PC its a new MMO title yet to be released (just has similar sounding name).

That's not the point. I bought Kotor for my xbox and play both, and now they are making a Republic game for the PC, that takes place 300 years after Kotor. I can't believe they are doing that. That's cold, and I'm a little angry. :realmad: I know I don't usually get angry, but there's no way my little laptop can play a game.
If they don't bring me my Fable 2 soon, I'm going to loose it.:'(

Its not KOTOR its just a game set around the same time periods as those games thats all so it wont be expanding the KOTOR story or be seen as a sequel. We wont see that until KOTOR III which will no doubt be on all platforms.

MMORPG Just means its a limited game, I still go back and play the old KOTOR's.
With this one in like 7 years time hardly anyone will play it. What use will this be to a single player lover? Screw you George Lucas!

Not Biowares fault, they dont own the Star Wars licence and can only work on the titles that LucasArts say they can work on. They have stated many times how they would love to make a new KOTOR game but LucasArts are the ones stopping them.

Their excuse was that they wanted to try new projects and titles before going back and creating a sequel to one of the older titles. Even though its their best selling title to date and has the biggest fanbase so far of any of the titles they have produced. They are well aware we are waiting for a sequel but seem to like making us wait. Bioware mentioned this fact on their own forums some time ago when questioned as to why they hadnt started work on a sequel yet. Although some artwork & concepts for KOTOR III was leaked some time ago but seen nothing since.

As in that it isnt planned to be released on anything besides PC at the moment.

Its not a doubt its more that they havent mentioned any other platforms at this time. As i said it was the same for Dragon Age: Origins (Biowares soon to be released title) and thats coming to consoles, was also the same for Ubisofts Far Cry 2 and so did that. I could reel off lots of titles that were only planned for one platform but ended up on multiple.

I have to be fast at posting, its in my job description. That and im not really human just an automated robot... :ninja:

Awesome!
But in reality all you we can do is hope it comes to console.
PC gaming is okay if your hooked up with a rig.
Bioware hopefully pull through for us. Lucas Arts are'nt doing us any favors so far!
