Sundial mysteries...

So, reading around, I've decided that joining this site would be highly beneficial to the expanding of my time spent in Fable TLC.

so...

Hearing something said about the sundial in a forum (the sundial in the Picnic Area), and running past that frustratingly mysterious statue in Lookout Point (the large one in the crossroads, surrounded by benches), and listening to a certain Bandit Spy (I'll talk about it later...), I make a *click* in my head;

The huge statue can be moved by simply accessing your will power whilst looking at the statue. It rotates on spot, infuriatingly slow. It took me 5 minutes to move it 90 degrees.

In the Quest: "Bandit Spy Extraction", you return the spy safe and sound to Bowertone Jails, and the female Bandit correspondant says something very mysterious before she leaves: "and remember, the hand falls at half-past three" (or something like that; I can't remember precisely, it's been a while).

**also note, while not a part of my original theory, the Bell located in Hook Coast (or some part of the Northern Wastes...) is quite out of the way, and looks like it means something. i dunno, just a random thought...

anyway, what if this Bandit's riddle is tied to the Rotating Statue and the Picnic Area Sundial?
-Not saying that it's NECESSARILY linked to the Singing Sword, but to go through all this trouble, I'd hope you'd be rewarded with something nice.

please elaborate and argue further, and give me some feedback.

Re: Sundial mysteries...

There is no Singing Sword, for the septrillionth time, and how did you move the statue?

Re: Sundial mysteries...

The Statue moves on it's own and only points to Two things, the Bowerstone Tavern Cellar, and Greatwood, where a chest appears with an augment inside it.

And She says The Blue Nymph Crouches at Quarter past 3, which doesn't exist either. :P ;)

I don't remember the details that good, but that quote is actually a homage to a movie. Can't remember which one, but I seem to recall that it is a spy movie or such.

Re: Sundial mysteries...

blue nymph is code words that spies use (not necessarily blue nymph)
no singing sword
that statue points to a chest and bowerstone tavern cellar
the bell in hook coast was just a myth i believe was formed on the basis of the ship of the drowned used to get you to the northern wastes, summoning said ship you had to use the fire heads at the top of the lighthouse

Re: Sundial mysteries...

:unsure:Well, I never said that it was linked to the Singing Sword. and thanks for the clarification on what the spy said, my memory's shot lately.

so, why have the statue at all, then?O.o

Re: Sundial mysteries...

well the sundail could be linked to the singing sword if it existed but i find the sundail never pionts left or right ive only seen it piont forward

Re: Sundial mysteries...

Ha wow, I remember when I first found this site (over a year ago) trying to find out about The Singing Sword and people are still talking about it.

Man its good to be back on this site, I left because i found out everything I needed to know about Fable. But now that I have a 360 I start posting again.

Re: Sundial mysteries...

Well I;m not sure but i think i may have found something...

if you stand by and watch the sun dial will go to the 12:00 point but at that time it becomes day so it then goes back the other way.
AT NIGHT go to the sun dial and use divine fury it will move it to a point PAST the 12:00 point the best i was able to hit was 2:00. i waited for it to hit 12 then used moon fish but it then went back to before 12

as for lighting the stick on fire ..Did anyone notice that is you hold block and charge a fireball at the same time it looks as if he were lighting the stick..i have lvl 2 er 3 fireball and it didnt light maybe it must be maxed? or has nothing to do with it. also i tried to hold it in the fire at skorms temple and nothing...
Home i helped or sparked some ideas :) ~LU~

Not to be mean, it is the fire heart. I know it does not make much of a difference.

You mean the shadow? The actual dial points out no time in particular, but the shadow does. Back in the REEAALLYY OOLLDD days (probably Roman Empire time, correct me if I am wrong), no one knew how to make something that changed like a watch.

Re: Sundial mysteries...

Wait... I thought the statue also pointed at the picnic area then did something ther aswell...

Re: Sundial mysteries...

Must have been on other forums people were saying something about lighting the stick on fire to light the fire place in the lighthouse to call the boat for a ride to the dragon island or w/e so i figured id try n help

as for the dial.. it really is stupid for all these things to be put in the game and not used or completed. Don't get me wrong the game is awesome and all but finish ur fkin quests before selling the game.

ALSO: I'v been trying the "go to lost bay at 3 er 3:15 and there is no blue nymph iv spent like 2 hours going in and out of the map am i doing something wrong?

And the dragon pic that is said to be you fighting a dragon(the missing one at the end of the game) yOU GET IT FROM BEATING JACK WATCH THE CREDITS :)

The Dial is a part of something less and less designers are doing: envirement, no one (with a few exceptions like Bungie and Lionhead) seem to care for, they do random pretty stuff to make the world feel more alve, not just to improve the setting, but to put detail in...

There is no Blue Nymph (other than those ones that drop hobbes in darkwood) so your wasting your time :)
