Superbowl

Re: Superbowl

Well it`s not like I knew anything about rugby either

But how popular is footba... soccer in Australia? Compared to, lets say Am football or rugby.
Bc I know I enjoy "our" football (FIFA, UEFA)

Soccer (whatever you want to call it) isn't that popular over here. We've only recently implemented our own national league on the back of us entering the world cup in 2006 (and surprisingly getting through the group stages). There's a team in every majoy city, and it's gaining popularity, but it well and truly fledgling.

What is popular is AFL. The Australia Football League plays Australian Rules Football. It is easily the best football game in the world.

Watch this in HD if you can.

This is a bloody football.

Mmm... I`ve never watched the American version, but it`s mostly because I don`t know the rules and how the game is played so I just don`t get it. That and our TV channels don`t show the games anyway.
Some sports are cool so have fun watching.

Lol we know what REAL football is, only reason i watch it is because its a kind of a american tradition thing, even if we don't like foot ball lol.

Re: Superbowl

I find American Football... Boring. But I don't like Rugby either and they're quite similar.

Speaking of Rubgy, anyone catch the Six Nations last night?

Re: Superbowl

Rugby Union is the fastest form of Rugby, and thus the best. Still not as fast as AFL.

Re: Superbowl

Sorry but American Football is still amazing, only sport I like.
People can brag brag and brag about other sports being better, this topic is about the superbowl. -.-
Pulling for the saints.

Ireland beat Italy, England beat Wales.

Not to be an English **** or anything, but England will win this year.

Re: Superbowl

I don't think there is any possible way I could even pretend to give half of a sh*t about football. How any human being can sit down and waste a Sunday afternoon watching that garbage is beyond me. And believe me, I have tried. I've tried several times and I don't see how anybody could ever sit through the entire thing, not sober anyway (which is the tradition here). The only way I can even come close to understanding football and the super bowl is that it is an excuse to drink, but why would one need an excuse to do that?

Fix'd. Try to post correctly.

Honestly, I have no idea whos playing against who. I'm just a watcher ^_^

Yay! Advertising! :w00t: God knows I don't get nearly enough of that during the rest of the year. :getlost:

One more thing: I am proud to announce that once again the stuper bowl has come and gone without me being aware of it. Well, I was aware that it was soon, but I was not aware that it was today, nor was I aware of who was playing in it.

saints won! the teams about as old as the league itself, and the first superbowl they manage to get into they win.
suck on it, colts :D

I do enjoy a good underdog story. I was so upset (well, not really) that the Cardinals lost last year. The perfect underdog story was ruined, and it would have involved an Australian ex-AFL player. The only reason I watched it was because of him!

It's not for everyone. Out of curiosity, is it just Gridiron or are you one of those guys who just doesn't get into sportrs in general?

Spots in general. I've never cared for spots, but playing them now and then is sort of fun for me. But watching someone else play is painfully boring.
