Many people were sceptical about a reboot to the much loved Bullfrog original Syndicate series and especially when news hit that it was now going to be turned into an FPS game. However this news was slightly cushioned by the fact that it had been handed over to the superb Starbreeze Studios (Chronicles of Riddick and The Darkness). The new trailer looks rather impressive i have to say and looks kind of similar to Deus Ex: Human Revolution which people were also originally worried about coming out and it ended up brilliant.​

Fallout, Deus Ex, and now Syndicate. Whats wrong with remaking them as the way they used to be. Looking at the old syndicate games, I would love to play a updated version of it. Creating your megacorporation sounds much better than just playing some linear cod clone. Hell, it interests me enough that I'm going to see if I can buy it anywhere.

EDIT: Found syndicate wars on amazon for £4. Anybody know if a MS-DOS game can work on a vista or XP laptop?

I see where your coming from but both the recent Fallout games and the Deus Ex prequel still ended up brilliant games and this looks like it will follow suit so far and i have faith in Starbreeze Studios.

It wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't just franchises being rebooted into FPS's. There are other genres.

FPS is only a small part of the experience though they are usually RPG's with FPS aspects. I guess its because FPS just works as an action/shooter experience better than a 3rd person view these days and they see people being able to 'Role Play' better in a body they feel they are controlling fully from 1st person perspective. One of the reasons i got so into Morrowind and Oblivion for example was the 1st person aspect because in 3rd person they were terrible.

I think you need DOSBox or something. It's free to download.

I use it to run Settlers II on my Vista laptop.
