Temporary hiatus.

After my brief suspension I've come to the conclusion that I'm in dire need of a break. At the very least, not log on as often as I did. I'll explain why in the following post but I will say that this isn't a discussion thread or me saying it's okay to ban my account (because it's not).

I'm a little sickened by the hypocrisy and double standards that go around here. Just to show that I know the definitions of both these words and to educate those of you who don't, I shall post the definitions below with an example of the word beneath it.

Example: It's okay for others to insult me but should I retaliate or say something that is neither rule-breaking nor abhorrently offensive, I am the only one guilty.

"somebody feigning high principles: somebody who pretends to have admirable principles, beliefs, or feelings but behaves otherwise".

Example: In my "Movie Suggestions" thread I was suspended for supposedly being disrespectful of another member but the moderator who suspended me was also extremely disrespectful in his post.

Mind you, that's just one example of each and while I could list many of them, I will not do so. Mostly because I'm lazy but also because I don't feel it's necessary.

I did my best to remain calm and respectful of others but how can I stay that when I'm not granted the same courtesy? Nevertheless, I am not in the least bit surprised.

Of course, my point will be further proven by the future posts that will inevitably riddle this thread with both subtle and not-so-subtle insults.

With that I bid you all adieu (for the time being, anyways).

grim, despite what you may say or think people don't become offended or ignore you for no reason at all. i'm sure there's a little more to it than you posted. furthermore, you weren't perma-banned. everyone here, especially the staff, are hoping that the situation improves, that's why it was only for 3 days.

so please, stick around. i do mean it. i'd be lying if i said i'd be upset for you to be banned, but that relationship, along with the one between you and §ephi has room for improvement, that's all. nobody stays mad forever, and we all want to get along with you. so yeah, i may not shed a tear to see you go now, but what i'm trying to say i suppose is that i'm hoping sometime in the future that changes.

I think you're really overreacting there, Grim. People here who act mature and considerate don't get insulted or banned. Despite what you may think, the staff here are very fair and lenient, and getting on their bad side is incredibly difficult to do without trying.

That being said, I hope this hiatus lets you work out some things. I'm sure everyone here will welcome you back with open arms if you can show your mature side.

I think you're really overreacting there, Grim. People here who act mature and considerate don't get insulted or banned. Despite what you may think, the staff here are very fair and lenient, and getting on their bad side is incredibly difficult to do without trying.

That being said, I hope this hiatus lets you work out some things. I'm sure everyone here will welcome you back with open arms if you can show your mature side.

I didn't create this thread so people would throw me a pity party. It was mostly to explain my disgust with the way things work around here. There is nothing against the rules that says I can't argue with someone and if it goes off-topic, that seems to be just fine because many people do it yet they're never given so much as a slap on the wrist.

That's a double standard and it's extremely irritating especially since it seems to happen all the time (not just here mind you).

Anyways, don't feel bad, don't feel sorry, don't feel anything. It's more of me coming and going as I please, just not as often.

It's not me overreacting. Believe me, had I been upset or angry my first post would contain excessive swearing and me just ****ing in everyone's Cheerios.

When have I ever acted anything but mature? There may be an exception or two but you show me one person on these forums that has been absolutely 100% mature all the time and I'll show you a monkey flying on a banana doing cartwheels.

As Cheez posted, I hope your break can help you realise things so you can come back better. You have the makings of a decent member, so why throw that away?

I didn't ban you because you were arguing or having an opinion, I banned you for acting like a douchebag towards the other members. I definitely didn't ban you for any personal reason, I actually like you and you have provided some intelligent posts on here that were enjoying to read, but the acting like a douchebag towards people needed to stop.

However you are not fully to blame as well for some of the instances, as we've noticed some people are just too sensitive around here against differing opinions or to people who are simply being honest about something. So we saw a few forum reports on you that were truly not your fault and didn't really need to be reported.

Stranger, Cheez, Arseface, and Purp said it better than I could. I hope that you can come back with a better attitude towards the community and understand what it is you've been doing. Like Purp said, you have what it takes to easily be a respectable member.. just have to work at it.

Grim, seriously you need think about what your saying. If you go a year back, you can see what a douche I was. I do believe I got into bashing noctus several times. Now, I am still a bit of a douche, especially to newer members, but I've grown up and I suggest you do the same thing. Be smart, take a look at your posts and see where you went wrong and improve upon that.

Not to mention you are a very argumentative person. That isn't what bothers me. What bothers me is that during an argument, you will discredit the other parties involved solely to make yourself credible, and then act like your side is the right one.... every... single.... time...


I'm going to bring up an example. A while ago a conversation about 'life on other planets', I believe it was Cheeze and I, had begun in the chat.

Part of the way through it you claimed: Life on other planets is impossible because there is no evidence to support the possibility, making its probability low and therefore impossible.

We countered that with: The universe is so expansive and huge, infinitely so, that to claim our planet is the only one in existence to support life is simply a ridiculous notion.

Then you countered that with an 'I'm right you are wrong' statement, followed by something along the lines of: I don't have to listen to a bunch of hippies.


That's not good conduct no matter how you slice it man.

No, but seriously, I find the Italian language to be a revolting, irritating one. Does that mean I care what the Italians think about my language? No. Was your post extremely pointless, off-topic and long-winded? Yes.

Now this is just your opinion, but you should use a bit more tact. Calling a language revolting and irriatating offends the people who speak it. Now thats just your opinion but using certain adjectives can make something sound like an insult. Those words make it sound like the italian people may as well be dribbling ****.

Maybe its just your choice of words when posting that make them more offensive then they really are.

Is it really my fault I can't stand the language? I mean, yes, I could have made it a little more subtle but would that have changed anything? Highly doubtful. Besides, it was like the guy was raping my eardrum and that's extremely difficult to do considering I listen to techno/trance.

If you can't stand the language and would like to tell people, try using a different tone of saying such. Direct cannot always be the best solution and isn't always accepted by everybody, keep that in mind.
