So, it's arbitrary, but I think it's good to remember this.
I was surfing the web when I came across something mentioning Petty Officer Third Class Nathan Bruckenthal of the US Coast Guard.
It is two days after the six-year anniversary PO3 Bruckenthal lost his life while serving with TACLET South Detatchment 403 in the Persian Gulf, aboard the USS Firebolt. PO Bruckenthal was the first Coast Guard combat fatality since Vietnam, and one of the many soldiers to give their lives in the course of this war.
Whatever your opinion of the wars themselves, our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines are serving their assorted countries for reasons they deem good. They are killed and wounded in our service.
Remember them.
