So, last night I came across this documentary on BBC Three and I decided to watch it. Aside from the issues it brings up, it just shows how most internet terms have now become so mainstream in the media. The hour-long programme discusses cyber-bullying and so called trolling. Now we all know what trolling is. We've all come across a troll in our time and I'm sure most of us have done un petite trolling in our time.

One of the scenarios of cyber-bullying actually caused a young boy to kill himself after receiving twelve threatening messages. Though I believe they failed to mention that he was probably being bullied during school time aswell.
IAmSomeDamnHorse made a good point when I showed him this. Most of the scenarios brought up sound a lot more like flaming rather than actual trolling.
As we all know, the best way to combat a troll is to simply ignore them. Never feed a troll, so to speak.

It's hilarious because, once again, the media fails to properly report on internet culture.

I'm watching the first 5 minutes, but I've got to head off to work. I'll watch it for realsies tonight.

I think that bullying isn't an internet issue. It's those kids who are ****ed up. Sure, the internet has made it easier to bully kids, but it's also made it a lot easier for kids to ignore bullies. You educate the kids properly, and this wont be an issue.
