The Bible Vs Video Games

Re: The Bible Vs Video Games

Well, it's nice to be hated ^_^

Re: The Bible Vs Video Games

Tanro, please post comments about your views on religion in the Religion Thread, not here. To make such negative comments about something that isn't related here is rude. This thread is to discuss the relationship between the Bible and video games, not insult religion. I am not trying to insult you, but here is not the place.

Re: The Bible Vs Video Games

Ugh I hate religious people

Re: The Bible Vs Video Games

seriously stop bashin religion, its a bad thing (I know im a Christian and I have been told how horrible I am before lol) Faith = good. Religion = bad. kk? I like the VG cult idea though lol! now, let us get off of the insults and compare, yes the Bible is very graphic buts its history, my Faith's history debate the facts as much as you want but its mine. VGs are sources of entertainment and they need to lower the ratings, I dont want parental allowance on ****in halo 3!!! P.S I has a 360 now but no fable 2 :(

Re: The Bible Vs Video Games

Don't blame all Christians for what some of the really stupid ones do. Seriously.

We're not all nutters, guys. The nutters are just incredibly loud and obnoxious and have an amazing way of appearing like the majority and interpret scripture in incredibly effing strange ways (or, more accurately, . I am tired of having to point this out frequently to people who say they hate Christians but don't necessarily hate me :-P Hell, stereotyping any group of people - Christian, atheist, agnostic, Muslim, Hindu, black, white, hispanic, short people, clowns, dogs, cats, telemarketers, lawyers, midgets, nerds - generally just turns out plain stupid. Yes, it is perfectly possible to be racist towards white middle class Christians. Surprise!

Actually, I would stop calling myself Christian for the same reason I've stop calling myself furry, but since I still believe in the whole Christ thing and calling myself something like "Christist" would just be awkward I don't really have that choice.

Fun fact as well: If you're going to say anything bad about any group of people...Don't say "HEY DON'T READ THIS IF YOU'RE ____". It doesn't hide anything.

Also, religion isn't responsible for most of the world's problems, if you actually look at them. What's responsible for most of the world's problems, then? Well, misinterpretation of religion is one, yes - how often people forget that many religions include a "for the love of God (literally) stop killing each other every five seconds". But if religion went away, would it stop?

No. There'd still be plenty of reasons to kill people. Skin color, having something I want really badly, because I felt like it, because you have better stuff than I do but I have a larger gun, because you were born somewhere else, because I'd like to my own country but yours is in the good spot, because you insulted my family/dog, because I don't like your leader, because killing is the Right Thing according to my leader...It goes on and on.

And one more thing people often ignore: What do you think would happen if some people didn't have a religion? Have you ever thought about the fact that the only reason some people have morals at all (unfortunately) is because of religion. And you could say "morals are just tools used to enslave people" which is totally fine right up until people steal your family, shoot your dog, do something unspeakable on the rug, and then torture you to death. Right about then, I would probably be thinking "you know, some sort of moral code that keeps people from gouging out my eyes would be nice". Heck, if it turns out I'm wrong about my own beliefs maybe that's exactly what happened :-P It's very unfortunate that over the centuries people have used and abused religion to further their own evil/stupid plans.
