I'm sick of people saying that everyone went to go see this movie because he died. Even a YEAR before this movie came out and it was reviled that Ledger was going to be the Joke I thought to myself, "What?! Are you kidding me? No one will be better then Jack." (and I liked Ledger, thought he was a good actor). Even after he died I was still skeptical of how he would preform the Joker (the REAL Joker... the dark sadistic serial killer Joker. The one the thinks torture and death is HILARIOUS.) THEN I went to the movie to see (and critique) Ledger's performance. After the pencil magic trick I was convinced. After that all I wanted to see was Ledger as the Joker, he did it perfectly.

People are talking about nothing but Ledger as the Joker because it was unexpected that he would be so great NOT because he died before the premiere.

Thank you..... very much.

I also was convinced that no one could do better than Jack.... But I stand corrected now that I've seen the Dark Knight (four times...) I always thought Heath was amazing, but the Joker just isn't the kind of role you'd picture for a pretty boy like him. However, given his style of acting, and the fact you can't even tell it's Heath, you get completely lost in his performance. Yes, the rest of the movie was also amazing, but the reason I personally keep going back is for Heath. Besides how awesome he is, I think it's a bit cooler to be a geek now that Dark Knight is the biggest movie of all time, and my obsession with the Joker is officially renewed.......

Thank you Dark Knight, thank you.:'( Truly.

Re: The Dark Knight

Question about the end:

Is Two-Face dead? They hold the funeral for Dent as a formality, but some things don't add up:
1. Batman was barely hurt by the fall
2. By Batman tackling Two-Face through the window and killing him breaks Batman's one rule, don't kill.
3. Batman and Gordon discuss covering up what really happened by saying Batman killed all those cops, Dent, etc. So is it possible they could have told the public Dent was dead but he really wasn't? After all, the only people who witnessed the whole event to the end was Gordon and Batman.

Re: The Dark Knight

To Miekka's spoiler:

I don't know Miekkas I was thinking the same thing. I personally do not think he is dead. If batman survived the fall then its not preposterous that Harvey could have survived as well. I think we will see him in the next movie (or maybe the fourth)

All I'm saying is in the reviews I watched/read, not one person even commmented on his ability to take on the role - they didn't mention his characterization, his insight - just the fact that "he's awesome, shame he died". Nothing more, nothing less. That is not a critical review by any stretch of the imagination.

Re: The Dark Knight

Ledger actually played the joker right, a messed up individual. It was dark and eveil and Jack Nicholsen has nothing on heath one bit. Ledger stole the whole show and was the character.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this movie. All I've heard are great things about it.
