Sure Fable I and Fable II both had combat, but the one thing I liked most was Economies and Politics.

Fable I allowed you to use Supply and Demand, selling things to traders who did not have a lot of it, making a profit, trading amongst others, etc. They also allowed you to become a landlord, even allowing you to decided whether or not someone stayed in town or not.

Fable II introduced us into a whole new window. Economy Rating, redecorating homes, adjusting rents, adjusting prices, doing jobs, and improving the town as a whole throughout the game in certain places. The Supply and Demand from Fable I was still included, just on a revamped scale. Land-lording became newer as well.

Now Fable III has arrived to our doorsteps, and we just gotta wait a few days for its release. So I decided to make this thread for the Fable Players who like the Economic and Politician aspect of the games.

Personally, I love it. I love messing and experimenting with the Economy, trading, etc. Fable III has a feature where the very towns and cities change appearance to reflect Economic levels. With a better redecorate mode, Land Lording will be much more better. Politics plays a role, as you decide how you want to run Albion as a King.

Anyone else happy to find stuff about Economies and Politics in Fable instead of the Fighting part?

I don't think it will be as economic and political based as you think. It would be amazingly awesome if you got to set progressive or flat taxes or specific tariffs, but I don't think we will. Making appointments would also be badass but I expect that all kingly decisions will be kind of staged/scripted.

I enjoy the economic side of Fable, its realistic and adds fun and depth to the games. I am looking forward to the judgement moments, these won't be scripted, Molyneux has stated that there will be an expression like wheel called judgement, you can order people around as you wish, I am not lying.

Where did he say this? I would like to read and/or listen to him.

It was ages ago, but he said as king or queen, you can declare the fate of people brought before you. I think it was called the Judgement system and you could throw a bandit in jail, or to the noose. And give a poor man money you know.

I'm gonna do that when I'm good.. But I'm gonna do the opposite when I'm evil!!

sounds like a plan scousaJ, try to find the interview, I do remember hearing bout it

I thoroughly enjoyed the social, economic, and political aspects of the Fable series. One reason I loved Fable 2 so much was because they expanded on it so much. It'd be a mistake for them to degrade these aspects or to "simplify" them.

As someone with a degree in political science I'm especially looking forward to making decisions in Fable 3.

I found out that once you get enough money in the treasury, you can climb up it to obtain a chest located on a recess above the chamber

No you climb the pile to achieve a gold key... which unlocks a chest at the bottom

And then nothing was in the chest.

I would hate to have to spend all that money after making it just to get to a chest. Maybe in the chest there is...more gold!!!
I am wondering how tight money can be when you become king. Will with the right choices would you be able to fund everything late in game?
And are you above the law when you are king; I am tired of getting busted for breaking into people’s houses and redecorating.
And what happens when you make promises and then break them?

i am hoping for the economy of the game to improve tenfold.
in fable, money was hugely sparse at the start, yet ultimately easy at the end.

there needs to be a way to sort of average it over the game.
so hopefully the hero starts with some money, and need to spend money on a longer bigger basis than in f2. rather than it just building up.

i hope to own every house again and to collect every item.

Well, I hope they actually take into account the fact that a revolution is expensive. Well any war is. I wonder if this will have any effect into how much money you make/spend.

do you mean where the hero builds up a revolution against, logan, or when you build an army against the revolution from aurora?
