The Elder Scrolls V.

http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/bethesda_elder_scrolls_v_arrive_2010

Dust hasn't even began to think about settling around Fallout 3's cushy new spot on store shelves, but developer Bethesda already has the coordinates set for its next megaton's drop date. According to publishing exec Paul Oughton, Bethesda plans on releasing another title in its sprawling, freeform Elder Scrolls series of RPGs -- in only two years, no less.
"At the moment we've got Fallout 3 for this year and potentially there's a new Elder Scrolls title in 2010," said Oughton.

So, there's the "what" and "when," but how about the "where"?
"At the moment we're not that interested in the Wii. We're going to stick to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC," he noted, giving gamers everywhere one less thing to worry about.

Considering Fallout 3's boundless expanses, as well as Bethesda's potential plans for dog armor, d'awwwwdorable dog feet pajamas, and other downloadable things of the like, 2010 sounds like the perfect time to unravel a new Elder Scrolls. We do have one question, though: how can you follow up expeditions into and subsequent ass-kicking of hell itself? Kind of nuked the fridge there, we think.

Didn't see this posted anywhere.

(EDIT: Looks like old news, but I haven't heard one thing about it until I saw this.)

Re: The Elder Scrolls V.

read it!

i'm guessing in ESV you create your own underground organization (be it to overthrow a king, fight another organization, etc...).
i'd be more specific, but when shooting wildly in the dark your chances are best with the largest spread pattern.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V.

This was quite old, I think. I remember a while back that this was posted:

While giving a speech on game development at Quakecon, Todd Howard did a brief question and answer session. After being asked a question regarding the future of the Elder Scrolls series, Howard said that there are no current plans for "Elder Scrolls 5" according to Big Download. Of course, the 'current' part of the article is not in quotes, and so far the UESP staff hasn't found a direct quote of Howard — this could just mean they aren't ready to announce it, and that people are reading far too much into Howard's words.

Howard took a few questions from the audience but didn't give out much info on their future projects, saying only, "We are working on our next big game but we are not talking about it." Don't look a new Elder Scrolls game in the near future; Howard said there are no current plans for an "Elder Scrolls 5." As far as an Elders Scrolls based MMO, he said in jest, "There's always a chance."

I still don't reckon we'll see ES 5 until 2012 :(

Re: The Elder Scrolls V.

Burn it with fire!

Re: The Elder Scrolls V.

Maybe they are hiding something?

I hope they are.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V.

Daemon, did you play Oblivion?

I think they are hiding something, they say they're working ona couple unannounced projects, I'd bet my bottom dollar one was either Fallout 4 or ES 5. Im hoping for ES 5 personally.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V.

Oblivion? Are you retarded? You think that I didn't play THE OBLIVION, and that I didn't get all DLC's to it?

You are definitely retarded ;p

Re: The Elder Scrolls V.

Whoa, chill.

I love Oblivion more than you.

Also, Bethesda trademarked the name Skyrim, the web domain 'ElderScrollsMMO' etc.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V.

I know you do.

But I love Assassin's Creed more than you.

I don't think it's FO4, they already have Obsidian working on Fallout to fill in the gap for fans while they work on other titles, which like you guessed would have to be ES V.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V.

I think they will release one right after the other. The profit they'll get from that will be huge. Just an idea though.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V.

Yeah but think of the time. It'll take at least two years to develop each game, even just upgrading the engine. I reckon they'll make a new engine though, meaning it'll probably take a good 5-6 years depending on the size etc.
