the lady grey quest..i need help

Been doing the Lady Grey invitation quest, I"m up to the part when i have to dig the necklace out from the place between the 2 boats. I found the boats but i don't know how to dig

just press up on the d-pad, then go to items, then go to other, then go to the item under the "other section" and select spade, after that it allows you to choose were to put that item on your d-pad

Or you could just buy the spade walk between the boats and you'll see the spade come up on th D-Pad...........you don't have to assign it to the D-Pad...

Yeah it should automatically appear highlighed on the d-pad selector on the screen when you can dig.
