We've heard about weapon morphing, kingship, rebellion, and new lands. The one thing that Lionhead hasnt really talked about is our best friend. Our dog. The only thing I have heard that concerns him is his hatred for squirells. I dont know if that will affect the story, but does anyone else hope that LH will say something about him? Or do they have something in store for him? Im really hoping for his combat system to be revamped. Actually, I hope he will be involved in combat at all.

Some of you may think he is pointless, and this is a stupid thread. Well thats your opinion, and I respect that. This thread is intented for discussion on one of the most overlooked things in the Fable world.

I think it'll probably be the same as Fable II. That would explain why they're not going into it. It'd be a bit of a downer to say "the dog will stay exactly the same but he will dislike squirrels this time".

I'm with Poop. They're quiet about it because there's nothing to say.

actually, its rabbits that the dog hates. and i heard he attacks downed enemies more often, you can also have more breeds (including a bulldog with the limited edition version) but thats all i heard

I really wish dog could be more useful in a fight. I get the whole "not controlling your dog makes him feel more real" thing back in Fable 2, but I would like to be able to teach my dog specific combat moves and then till him to use them during combat. Like, I don't know, run in between an enemy's legs and that trips him up. Just something more than attacking people on the ground.

no, they arnt going to do things like that. having an ally who cant die killing enemies that you dont even need to knock down is just too OP'ed

I don't kno if any of yaw have saw the old vampire movie the Lost boys, but the younger brother has an arctic husky which is big obviously, but if the dog on fable could like dive at an enemies face and just start messin him up, that'd be bad cuz the dog on the movie does damage\just a thought

Oh, they aren't going to do things like that? Thanks for the confirmation Peter. IF YOU DON'T HAVE PROOF IT'S AN OPINION. So you say 'in my opinion' or 'I don't believe they will implement said feature because i think having an invincible companion who can also harm your enemies at any time is slightly tipping the balance in your favour'. Not 'they aren't going to do it' because you have an opinion.

I totally agree, but on a little tiny side note, the dog isnt invincible to begin with(to whoever said it was),and i am refering to fable 2, it only died when lucien killed it, but in combat it got huhrt and startedd limping and you had to heal it

I'm just hoping that the dog won't be a massive pussy this time around, it's witnessed me slaughter countless hollowmen, balverines, hobbes and innocent villagers, and still it remained terrified of being in a cave... when you're evil, a dog like that just kind of decreases the "I'm an evil S.O.B" facade

The only thing I have yet to truly see is videos on the second half of the game, I have seen many videos of the first half, yet I have no clue on how things will play when you are the king or queen of albion

Thats what they want you to think

dogs are the most pointless/annoyingest thing you could include. They are a eye sore

One thing I want for the dog:
"Sic Them" command. Not gonna happen, but, Turn off safety, point at an NPC and yell Sic Them, or something and have your dog chase and possibly kill them.

I want it to say "SIC EM BOY! SIC EM BOY!"
And then the screen freezes as a bandit runs away, the bandit has an inner-monologue: "I knew 'ee said 'sick 'em boy' but alls I heard wuz 'sick balls.'"

If anyone gets this reference I love you

im sure all they did was add the feature of picking the breed and your influence on how he looks has probably been intensified with just minor improvements to combat and digging and they said the squirrel thing to just say hey we made the dog seem more like a real dog instead of a slave that finds your treasure so yea the dog is just getting alittle touch ups since there wasnt that much hate feedback about him for fable 2

Well they may not be talking about the dog cause they don't want to reveal too much. But with the touch system you can actually love or hate the dog. I just hope the dog isnt required for digging.
