The Sims 3

Bought it today. Pretty good. Not as good as I thought it'd be..

Pros:
- Fun, really. Traits make it pretty funny. Evil and Flirty don't go together, by the way. My guy's into some sick s**t.
- Travelling. Easy to get from one place to another. Cars, Bikes.. You know.
- You can remove the full screen.
- More things. Fishing, etc.

Cons:
- Graphics. Really? They suck. Even if you enhance them. If you zoom out, it looks like The Urbz for DS.
- The same as Sims 2 just with a little more.
- Real life money to pay for custom items? Come on.

It's a fun game but as with Sims 1 and 2, I can see myself getting bored soon. Possibly play it like once or twice a week and stick to my S3XB0X.

So if you are going to buy it, consider what I said.

Anyone else buy it?

Re: The Sims 3

I tend to read reviews of games if I haven't heard of them before or if I don't usually play the sort of game I'm looking at before I buy them. Reviews like this.

Re: The Sims 3

I did. But I loved the Sims 2.. Lost the disc though :(.

I just hope I get into it more..

Re: The Sims 3

yeah, what would you give it out of ten? It looks like a 6 or 7.

Re: The Sims 3

I'd have to say 7. It got a 9.

If you love the Sims, you'll love this. If you didn't like the Sims 1.. Don't bother. It's pretty good once you get into it, as I said.

Re: The Sims 3

Well a friend of mine got this, let me use his CD to play it on my computer.
Really I just did the same thing I did in 2, which was capture neighborhood sims, put them in "test" chambers and watch them slowly die via different ways (fire, starve, ect) in the underground house I made for myself.
The turning off aging made it much more interesting, hoping to get a few kids to die, have some child sized ghosts around.

You're a lovely person.

What's the point of playing a life simulator if you don't do highly illegal things?

Re: The Sims 3

I got it. It's "Meh" compared to The Sims 2.

Re: The Sims 3

i never got into the whole sims franchise. i tried playing 2.. played it for like 30 mins and got bored. uninstalled it and everything. so i'm not even going to bother with 3 from what you guys are saying.

Re: The Sims 3

Sims 3 is turd. Seriously. I haven't seen such a weak sequel since Oblivion, and at least that had graphics.

Re: The Sims 3

I love it, played it most of the weekend (husband has now reported me missing!) there are some glithes and some new ideas that arn't to everones liking but hey, if they don't try new things there wouldn't be any point in a new game!

And I don't know why people say its slow, is that your computer or the speed your playing the game at? for me it loads in about a minute and the game speed is just right

Re: The Sims 3

I plan on getting it. I love the Sims every so often. With Sims 2 I'd play it non stop for one or two weeks, then not play it for a couple months, then do it again.
