Summer vacations may be over for the year, but the Sims are just getting warmed up.

The Sims 2 Bon Voyage, EA's latest expansion pack for the mega-popular PC series, takes the Sims to exotic locales, where they can explore tropical islands, buy souvenirs and learn local customs.

The expansion pack shipped to retailers in the U.S. and Europe Aug. 31.

Along with this new EP, now makes The Sims 2 the PC game with the most Expansion Packs, ever...

Re: The Sims Cash in on Vacation Days...

I thought they would have been named the game with most expansion packs ever about a thousand ago (i might be one or two out ) ... there are so many its crazy...

Re: The Sims Cash in on Vacation Days...

Why won't this game die. My sister loves, I loathe it. I mean, as a gamer I'd rather have The Sims 3, eventhough I wouldn't play it but you know...

There's been rumors of The Sims 3 being in development. But as for The Sims 2, It's still in the prime of it's life, so i imagine it will be years before you even see a Sims 3.

My sisters clogged my PC up with so many Sims/Sims 2 expansions i got tired of seeing it and paid for another PC for them to have so they would leave it off mine

Heh, yeah i remember you telling me that. I have all the Sims 2 expansion packs installed on this comp at the moment..and it's eaten up 15GB's so far. But I'm probably going to uninstall them and re-install them on a much bigger hard drive than this one.

Re: The Sims Cash in on Vacation Days...

Yeah, it's absurd. But I actually like them, for brief periods of time. The Seasons expansion, and the Nightlife one, were worth it just for Vampires and, especially, Plantsims-- made it a hell of a lot easier to just build, build, build. After that, though... not so sure. Most've them just add a bunch of pointless new furniture; with not much new to play.

Re: The Sims Cash in on Vacation Days...

I don't buy the clothing and furniture packs, but I do buy the more major ones >_<" I still enjoy it, I admit it. But I...Tend to not make normal Sims situations. *ahem*

Re: The Sims Cash in on Vacation Days...

Who does? Whenever I play it, I just torture them. That adds some fun to the game, but it gets sorta boring quickly.

Re: The Sims Cash in on Vacation Days...

I don't torture them, I just make them as interesting as I possibly can. :-P Throw in a few fictional characters of mine as accurately as I can make them as well.

Then again, I also do quite a lot of manipulation through cheats and mods to set up interesting neighborhoods :-P

Re: The Sims Cash in on Vacation Days...

I like the Sims 2, it's addicting and I started off young when the first Sims came out. I agree that there are way too many expansion packs though. It's a little excessive.

Re: The Sims Cash in on Vacation Days...

I have to get it. For my sister and would like to see it myself too. I have all the previous expansions and one stuff pack.

A little excessive being an understatement, the game shop in next town to me had to build 2 extra rows to PC section just to accommodate those expansions

Meant 3 - 4 rows of shelf space just for The Sims and Sims 2 plus expansions. Thats crazy

Re: The Sims Cash in on Vacation Days...

Yeah, but each expansion pack adds a lot to the game.
But I usually get bored after two weeks with the new pack.

Wouldnt really say some add a lot except some new clothes/jobs/ and items etc. Some definitely arent worth the full expansion price thats for sure.

Only Sims 2: Pets was somewhat disappointing, others have added many many new things, not just clothes, jobs and items. New gameplay stuff, weather, etc.
Stuff packs are rather pointless I think as there are tons of downloadable material on the internet anyway.

Re: The Sims Cash in on Vacation Days...

So.. many sims expansions *explodes*

My Step Sis just got Sims 2 awhile back and is only missing Nightlife... It's Crazy.. But i do LOVE making my own neiborhoods and making everys hous real small and mine HUGE. :D

Re: The Sims Cash in on Vacation Days...

Really, they should probably just stop releasing the Stuff packs. Those are the stupid cruddy rip-off ones. I avoid them like the plague >_<"

The New Sims 2 Teen Stuff Pack:

Now your teen Sims can show some attitude with all-new, unique furniture, decor items, fashions and more with three distinct themes-"Goth," "Thrasher," and "Socialite."

=]

Re: The Sims Cash in on Vacation Days...

That's vaguely tempting, but not quite enough to justify paying for it when you've got legions of modders :-P
