My friend is addicted to cats, I like both, but as I have a dog, I have a disposition to the Canines, but as I said, my friend doesn't mind dogs, but loves Cats to death, and it sickens me that he is so obsessed with Cats that he would be willing to tackle someone who says they hate cats.
Example: The video where the deer stomps on the dog and then attacks the cat, he didn't say anything when the dog was attacked, but practically attacked the screen when it went for the cat. I have never seen or heard a dog owner get so ****ed at a cat lover for not liking dogs, and if they do it is usually a "My dog can eat your cat" thing.
I never spoil my dog, I might feed it scraps and pet her a lot, but there is plenty of times I scold her and just plain ignore her. While he would probably go in the highway to pick his cat up off the road. I find Cat owners are way more obsessed and attached than a dog is to a human.
I like cats a little better than dogs, just because dogs can annoy me more often than cats. But that's it. ^_^
Aaand why would only cats be for the lonely? Doesn't a dog not also just give company? Or am I missing something. '

It is common practice to take dogs for walks and to teach them tricks - both of these give the owner chances to not only socialise with other people, but also you get to know your dog who loves you and would do anything for you. (Training would also eliminate your "EWWW dogs are just gonna jump on me ewww" as "stay" is one of the more basic commands learned)
Cats on the other hand normally stay within the house and do nothing, apart from being fed and cuddled occasionally. Most cats are spoiled, and do not show their affection the same way a dog would.
Dogs also are helpful in various other ways than being a pet such as hunting, herding, protection, assisting police and military, and aiding handicapped individuals. Cats are used only for companionship.
Here are a couple of cat/dog joke that convey their differences perfectly:
A dog says," You pet me, you feed me, you shelter me and you love me - you must be God."
A cat says," You pet me, you feed me, you shelter me and you love me - I must be God."
Whenever a dog hears his master's footsteps when coming home, you simply cannot fail to notice the excitement. When a dog walks up to his master, his tail is wagging eagerly, excited that the master is back. A dog loves it when his master rubs behind his ears and scratches under his chin.
Cats, however, demand attention. When its master enter a room where a cat is, it pretends its master doesn't exist. When called, it likes to wait just long enough before entering the room where its master is, so its master cannot tell whether the cat heard the call or just wandered by on some business of its own. The master's most expensive piece of furniture is where it practice their destructive skills.
In the end however, the difference between cats and dogs is purely preference - so please take all discussion with a pinch of salt.

CAT DIARY Day 983 of My Captivity My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets. Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength. The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet. Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates my capabilities. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a "good little hunter" I am. *******s!
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of "allergies." I must learn what this means, and how to use it to my advantage. Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow, but at the top of the stairs. I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released, and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded. The bird must be an informant. I observe him communicate with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe. For now ...

I don't want to have to say ''stay''. I also hate it when someones dog keeps 'asking' me to throw a ball... Dude, I don'' want to throw ball!

I guess you're right, saying most cats, as my cat is often outside, and occasionally shows her affection.

Dogs are more useful for that, because their mentality is to learn, and take commands. They are indeed better in those things. Cats are better at some other things, on of which is-in my eyes- companionship. xD
Anyway, can't beat biology. =|

Haha thats awesome! But its like you guys are shocked or something? You know every day Humans are doing that (Not exact samething) everyday.. Heard of Ambulance? Police? Fire fighters? They do that everday.
I do not believe this classifies as good rather I believe this classifies as animal instict. I am glad that the other dog helped the other one out.

I believe this classifies as "Job" And not doing good in itself. Many people become doctors, policemen or fire fighters because of the bonuses that such jobs do have, not because they want to help the people.
^ Hahaha, Okay then. But for someone who does not have any interest in those jobs probably wouldn't understand why, Im sure alot of Doctors, Policemen, Fire Fighters do it to help others.
