First of all, has nobody heard of fantasy by chance? It is a genre where people can actually live as long as the author wants them to...

Second, why would there be two blind seeresses named Theresa in the same game series, who are not the same person?

Third, in the first fable, your choice was to kill your sister to get her soul for the sword. In the fantasy setting, somebody could have brought Theresa back by releasing the soul from the sword, back into her body.

Your last point is interesting because people have said it couldn't be her, because she would either:
A: Be long dead.
B: She has no eyes.
Well, if her soul ended up in the sword, then somebody released her soul it could have ended up in a new body- therefore negating points A and B and making it possible that the Oracle is her.

Besides, during the original game there was never really a given lifespan for the inhabitants of Albion. Its a fantasy RP based game which means you can't apply real world logic to it for the better part- when was the last time you seen a balverine in real life or slayed a hobbe?

Also, whose to say she didnt pass on and float around the world of Albion as some kind of spirit, or a protector, waiting for a specific time to become corporeal again to help the games new Hero save the world?

Edit: "Rose is skeptical of the whole affair and is about to leave when a blind soothsayer named Theresa stops her. The woman convinces Rose that the little box she just proclaimed as being "junk," may actually be the answer to what she needs in order to reach her goal."

Blind. Soothsayer. Theresa. And actually was there not rumors of Briar Rose being linked to Fable 2. And once again, JoB was over 500 years old was he not?

So therefore there are objects in the world that can make people live a lot longer than normal, maybe even make them immortal providing they dont get beheaded or some such thing. Say, just for a moment, the Oracle in the trailer is her. The item she holds could be the source of her immortality and hence why she is still alive- or maybe the people of Albion just have really long life spans.

Also, has anybody considered the fact that on starting a new game you may be asked questions about your former alignment, or given the ability to transfer basic save game data to the new game which in turn would slightly alter characters and minor plot details so old characters would appear in the new game?

now i thought about that but you would probably need a pc for that and not all fable2 player will have played the original.

You'd be right about not everybody having played the original game- and I guess with TLC as well that would add another awkward situation to get around. I still think its entirely possible that it could be Theresa though, people wouldn't need prior knowledge of the previous game- they would get to know her through the new game and then her identity could be truly revealed towards the end of the game- to people familiar with the older games she would be the oracle whose brother was once a great hero- to new gamers she would still be the same thing but they just wouldn't be as familiar with her background. That kind of thing may even entice people to go out and procure the original game as well.

Re: theresa in fable2

Her identity would be revealed later in the game. but knowing lionhead, you will probably be able to find a book that has information on Theresa saying something like "her body was never recovered and so sits an empty grave" or "after surviving a near death experience with her brother, she devoted her life to helping young heroes from going down the wrong path as he almost did"

You cant really call it the wrong path though since the game is going to be all focused on freedom of choice. It would probably be referred to as the path of darkness or some such thing lol.

Technically you could just go in the first response and say, hey everythings settled- it may or may not be her. Wheres the fun in that? I like to discuss things, find reasons why it could be her, reasons why it may not be her- balance things up and see whats the probability is, see it from different perspectives.

And there was no need to sound so patronising :P

Lol still sounds patronising but then again Im just far too paranoid.

So if you had to bet on whether or not it is Theresa, would you say it was or wasnt?

Re: theresa in fable2

what if the hero of the previous game was portrayed based on the actions yo have performed in fable 2

you evil=he evil
you good=he good
you make bad major choice=he is buried with mask on in a cemetery
you are pure and honest in you ventures=hes is known as a gentle and respectable ruler

Re: theresa in fable2

I would just like to say that it is not theresa her name might be theresa but whats the chance of that happening

Re: theresa in fable2

i agree with everyone but what if you killed teresa in the end. didnt the sword of aeon consume her in a sense even though you just sliced her in half.
