It all depends on how you want to think of your character afterwards. Assuming you're into the whole role-playing idea, which, coincidently, I am. I chose sacrifice along with keeping the dark seal, leaving the poor hero nothing but a shell of his old self, a withered old man who lost all he held dear in the name of the greater good, Solemnly living on the rest of his life with no reward but grattitude. But I feel like a dork putting so much thought into it, so I'll just shut my trap now.
