Re: Times Writer 'Games Are Crack For Kids'
I find rants about gaming quite humorous. Most people who dislike gaming and rant about it have never actually picked up the controller. They usually just hear about those who decide to accuse gaming for their problems, like violence for instance, and they automatically assume that gaming, in general, is "evil". Sure, I'm not going to deny that gaming can be overly addictive but, it's when people treat it as more than just a game, that causes problems, and thus gaming has now received a bad reputation.
I honestly find that gaming can be healthy for the brain depending on how you look at it. It increases good hand-eye coordination, you become more organized, learn how to solve puzzles and maneuver your way out of certain scenarios, and learn to become a better leader. A lot of games definitely have an educational side to it but, then again a lot of people who are against gaming tend to look past this.
