2-3 weeks is the estimated time unfortunately. Just hope the couriers dont bash it around in transit.

Apparently you get GTA4 now with a 360...i think my 360 is ready for the red ring of death...

I give you a 95% it will be bashed...look on the brightside you get it repaired again >.<

And either way just give it the red ring of death and you can get a new one free...at least here you can...

GET AN ELITE!!!! if u ask me elites r so much better, the extra 120 Gb's is nice to have, I've had mine since the first day it came out and hasn't red ringed, But i did have 2 cores before i got it and they didn't red ring but screwed up.

Oh no, that would drive me crazy. Hope it doesn't get bashed. They usually pack it pretty well.

Ive seen the packaging when they send them back and seems quite sturdy and well protected. Plus when i sent it out it was packaged in so much stuff i could have thrown it off the roof and not damaged it. :lol: So didnt have to worry about the journey there either.

Mine was a first generation Core and the last one in the store before they sold out for 6 months here (the reason i got a Core and not a Pro). Lasted over 2 years without a problem really, disc tray was a bit temperamental after 2 years but as long as i kept a disc in it, it was fine. I was tempted to buy an Elite but if i can get mine repaired for free and have some parts changed i thought why bother for now.

Mine doesn't. Maybe you should call microsoft and tell them, before your warranty runs out. I just upgraded, yesterday and that didn't happen.

It only happens with Oblivion and the warranty has expired already. If mine dies, Steve will probably get an elite for himself and let me have his 360...then again, my 360 has been repaired once already and I don't think I'll have a real problem for a while yet...

Angel, you're very lucky to have Steve, if he gives you his? My husband doesn't play much, and I'm trying really hard to get him to coop, with me. Which is why I hope I can go online. If my breaks, past the warranty, it'd be up to me to get another, after much arguing. But I usually get my way.

Well, the newer models have a 10% failure rate. But, no console can be perfect.. :lol: 70's-90's we had to blow in cartridges, from 96-Now, we have disc read errors and console failures.

You should be fine though when picking up a newer model, I have one of the older models (just like Dark Drakan) and mine is still doing fine.. few disc read errors here and there, but nothing else. Got it in Nov 2006.

I think a tip for knowing if it's the newer model, is if the box has an updated list of "games to get" on the back of the box.

Yeah, Steve pretty much lets me have what I want - he's quite possibly one of the most generous people I have ever met. Means I can tell my sister "my husband is better than yours" in a suitably smug fashion :lol:

I'm working on getting live, after all, I bought the elite. Probably won't take no for an answer, when Fable 2 and The Force Unleashed, are released.

Xbox Live is great, always rattles me when people complain about paying for it (not that you were, im just saying). :lol:

Its the best online system on a console easily and the payments go towards keeping the system running to its best. Im very happy with Live and have started playing online more and more. Mainly with games like COD 4 (first game that made me start playing on Live a lot). The friend chat and friend invite system is simple but great and works really well. Needs some tweaks here and there, such as group chat and some modifications done to the Live dashboard but overall a great system.

i had a cheap core refurb awhile back i had to sell but I am soooo ready to get a new one, i have my HD all my games (well dead rising and Viva pinata) and a month free live card all i need is to go pick up a console! quick question does anyone know if that new Arcade pack comes with a wireless controller?

I would say get the Xbox360 now, even if it's just the Arcade version. There are so many great titles coming out for the 360 apart from Fable2; such as Gears Of War2. Maybe you will find other titles you like.
