unique buildings

what makes em unique? like the brightwood farm, the temple of light/shadows, etc. some say they are unique, but whats the difference? i get brightwood tower cuz you need to sleep in it for the quests, but what about the temple of light? when i purchased it i didnt even notice what the difference was between non-purchased and purchased (didnt test shadows, havnt worked on my evil char yer)

they're unique cos you have to do a quest to be able to buy them, well the majority of them anyway like giles' farm etc the only difference i've noticed is that you cant sell them, but you stll recieve rent/profit from them, which is nice
