tl;dr just let it be. this is the one time that necroing and creating duplicate threads is more or less overlooked on projectego.

Overlooked on Projectego you say, but in what context? Not caring about it, or moreso actually overlooking it? If the latter, I think people should us the report post feature more often. I use it quite regularly.
