Vampires Suck + Karate Kid (2010)

Ok, I was really looking forward to seeing Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Me and my friends got to the cinemas and they were no longer showing it. Apparently they stopped showing it the day we went to see the movie. I was looking at the movie listing for Thursday and they didn't give any end date of the showing. I dont know if this is my fault for not checking or theirs for lacking a end date and randomly stopped showing it on a Friday...
So, us, the disappointed trio still wanted so see a film so we bought tickets to see "Vampires Suck". If you don't know anything about the film, its basically a movie making fun of the Twilight Movies and the whole vampire craze.

So I'm going to give my review for it. The movie was pretty funny. There was a lot of jokes and they stuck to a persistent plot, constantly pointing out flaws and making fun of the whole Twilight series. The movie sums up all the other movies/books into one shorted movie only with humour and an detailed storyline. I say its worth watching but only if you laugh easily and dont like some lame jokes. Its funny in an odd way, but I like it.


Now for Karate Kid (2010)
So I saw this one with my family, and it was good. Obviously you can not beat the classics, but it is a very good modern day version of karate kid.

Its a movie about this kid whose name I think is Dre, who moved to Beijing, China from Detroit, USA. There he gets bullied buy some kids who he later finds out are completely better at fighting than him and he gets beaten up by them. The kids beat him mercilessly and Dre and he also later finds out that they have a teacher who has vile intentions and teach his students to fight and give no mercy and to use all the power you have to rise up and defeat everyone that comes in your way. In the movie Jakie Chan confronts the corrupt teacher and blah blah and blah happens and they have to fight in this tenement. The movie is Will Smiths kid training and becoming close to this girl he met. the movie touches very little on that aspect of it, but still has it play a large role in the film.

So, the movie was very good, I was entertained, and its always great to see another good Jakie Chan movie. The reason I like Chuck Norris and Jakie Chan so much is that they are their own stunt devils and they both do outstanding jobs at what they do. I wouldn't recommend taking a younger kid with you because I had to deal with some behind me constantly making comments about everything in the movie.. Maybe they wanted me to be karate kid? i dont know, but if your one of those people that bring noisy obnoxious kids to the cinemas, i hate you. Hm, there was very little light swearing and there was violence but it was well placed and was only necessary to make the movie as good as it was.

I really wanted to see Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World but I missed my chance. Fawk living in the country. Homosexual yo. Anyways Vampire Sucks was pretty good. Not gut busting funny like a movie like Grandma's Boy or Clerks but good. But really I shouldve rented a movie instead, watching it in the theaters was a waste of money.

As for the Karate Kid...meh the original was good but the new one I didn't like so much. I watched it anyways thought cause Jackie Chan is cool beans.

I haven't sen Karate Kid, but my Kung Fu sifu's said that it was actually Kung Fu, and not karate. xD Karate is just a more commercially accepted name, I guess.

Vampires Suck was nothing special.

Enough for a couple of laughs (I was very tired when I saw it so it might have been funnier because of that), but nothing special.
I know I shouldn't be hoping much from a movie like this, but even then , it's not something I'd recommend to anyone.

It could be a ripoff of any other of the ripoffs of that very same character since it's such a generic character.

I've seen karate kid, I preferred it to the original. I really liked mr Miyagi but I couldn't stand the kid. However I loved Dre and Jackie Chan.

I thought it was one of the best films I've seen for quite awhile, can't wait till it comes out on dvd.

I haven't sen Karate Kid, but my Kung Fu sifu's said that it was actually Kung Fu, and not karate. xD Karate is just a more commercially accepted name, I guess.

I believed it wasn't called kung fu kid, because us nerds would then proceed to be lazy and call it KfK.

And that ****es the suits off up in hollywood.

Vampires suck is just another movie making fun of other movie genres like scary movie and epic movie (I use the word genre very loosely. I mean, come on, disaster movie? That's not even a genre either). As much as I hate twilight, all of these kinds of movies are just terrible.

The Karate Kid never really interested me much.

Vampire Sucks is a clone of Disaster Movie which is a clone of Superhero movie which is a clone of Meet the Spartans which is a clone of the Scary movies, of which the only descent one was the first.

The Karate Kid made me want to rip out my eyes, shove them up my ass while Ke$ha sang her entire discography at 4x speed directly into my ear as a walrus **** in my mouth. Thanks for ruining my childhood.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say, bu I meant that even though the movie is called Karate Kid, it just focuses on Kung Fu. Jackie Chan learns the dude KUNG FU. But the movie is called KARATE Kid. derp.

KK(2010) was not that bad. calm down folks. you guys obviously havent seen some movies i had to bear through. You got Marmaduke and Furry Vengeance. If you think karate kid and Vampires suck was bad, then you need to see a truly bad movie.

If you want me to pull out my ratings then i'd give (out of ten stars) Vampires Suck a 3, and Karate Kid a 5. Trust me, they were not as ad as some movies already out there.

No you guys are missing the point! They're making references to pop culture! See? So that makes it funny. It doesn't have to be cleverly written or have a coherent storyline, as long as it makes references to something that most people have heard of, it's funny! Do you understand now?
