Hi all,
ProjectEgo.net launched in March 2004 and was later rebranded as FableHero(.com) in February 2014. All in all, we've been around for almost precisely 17 years now and both founders — Andy and I — have left our teens, married (other people) and become dads (separately) to six kids, respectively.
Lionhead Studios closed its doors in April 2016 and we saw a lot of talented people forced to take their talents elsewhere.
We've been around for a long time now and seen some great times and some not so great times. The announcement of Fable 4 in July 2020 was like a breath of life for the franchise — and also for a community devoted to a single franchise.
We're the longest-running Fable community ever — something we're really proud of. However, we're feeling like it's time to broaden our scope and offer more opportunities for our community. We want to see this place thrive again. We want to encourage more conversations and more activity. We're strongly considering, with your support, relaunching the website as a community for fans to come and talk about all role-playing games, big and small, new and old. Fable II, Morrowind, Valheim, Breath of the Wild (it cuts the mustard!), Final Fantasy VII, Mass Effect (hmm?), World of Wow of Warworldcraft,Call of Duty: Modern Warfare — just to surface the scratch. We have ideas and they're starting to take shape, but we want to know how receptive the remaining community might be to this idea of radical change.
I'll leave it at that for now. It'd be great to get a feel for what everyone is thinking about the proposed redirection of the website. All feedback and questions are welcome and encouraged!
