Re: w..o..n..d..e..r..i..n..g ...

You know, about the different endings, I agree that it would be cool to have different ones depending on your alignment. Still, I don't know that it will be that way in Fable 2. Molyneux said in one of his interviews last week that he didn't want anyone to feel like they had made the "wrong choice," if their gameplay experience was different from someone else's.

personally, I agree with the guy that was there from BioWare, who said that he thought different story arcs made games more enjoyable.

Guess we'll have to wait and see...

Your not the only one, i admire Bioware and their methods a lot and it seems Peter Molyneux admires them to!

I think he just meant that there will have to be a way to "balance" the rewards for being good or evil, so that people dont feel they should play the same way as everyone else. I love multiple endings to be honest, it gives games alot of replay value. With Fable 2 you ending may not be limited to your alignment but also your kindness or cruelty or even your gender. There are alot of possibilities and I hope they use them.

well, he was pretty clear that while he likes branching storylines in other games, he does not plan on using them in his own games...

Molyneux and Muzyka were both warmer to the idea of player customization and characters that evolve uniquely for each gamer, but the two diverged on the idea of branching storylines. Molyneux said he likes the idea, but had a good deal of concern that players would always worry they had made the wrong choice or missed something because of the path they took through the game. Muzyka countered that it was instead a good thing if two players had several different paths through a game, since that would make them feel as if their choices actually mattered and would make the game more replayable.

while both agreed on customization, Molyneux differed from Muzkya in that he doesn't wish to have the storyline change based on alignment or gender, etc, as people will think too much instead of getting emotionally involved...

The side quests will have different arcs however. Like the whole aid/kill the village thing.

Arcing a story Is really difficult. Essentially your layering your design efforts instead of stacking them end to end. Sure you will have more replay, but you also have a shorter game for similar amounts of effort. Also remember he did say he was very interested in down loadable content so perhaps you be able to download quests to play.

That sounds awsome. I love downloadable content. . . Too bad downloading all of Oblivion's has put a damper on my funds.
