We just took down all of our Christmas decorations

We don't take ours down until Jan 6th. Dec 28th seems too early. By any chance does The Grinch or a Pre-Ghost Visited Scrooch live in your house?

Eh. If we didn't take them down today they would have stayed up until March (they did last year).

I think we take down ours on January the 12th, although we barely put any up so it's hardly heartwrenchingly sad to take them down.

THAT IS AN ABOMINATION UNTO NUGGAN.

Seriously. Ours have been up since Nov. 27th and will stay on until AT least the 1st. And then, yes, we will procrastinate taking them down and get yelled at by my mom.

And that's completely aside from the Christmas tree which, for assorted ****ed-up mental and emotional reasons, has been up since November of 2004. Plastic, obviously.

Three Wise Men, perhaps? Mostly Americans don't celebrate whatever days they have. Just Christmas Eve/Day and New Year's Eve/Day, which isn't actually Christmas-ish but gets some overflow.

Upon doing further research (with questionable legibility due to that fact my primary resource is my parents) it appears that the 12th night marks the arrival of the Epiphany and the end of the twelve says of Christmas (like in the song), thus meaning one should take down their Christmas decorations then.

Does anyone celebrate the 12 days of Christmas? I think it's just tradition.

Yes, but I don't know who, where, or when. All, I can confirm for you at the moment is that I, in the state of Maryland, between the years of 1990 and 2010, do not. Wikipedia can probably help you find out the does.

Hehehe - got that book for Christmas :D

Ours had to go down early - we needed the travel cot for Jake (Steve broke his regular cot, no idea how, and the tree was residing in the travel one to stop Jake getting to it) so the tree is now in Jessica's room where I'm guessing it will stay for the entirety of the next 12 months as she is not willing to part with it just yet. Still have some ragged-looking tinsel on the bannisters though...

You are an awesome mom (mum, possibly.) My parents always refused to let me have the Christmas tree in my room when I was a young'un.

Also, Monstrous Regiment is awesome, though the ending is borderline stupid. And "Nuggan" is fun to say. So is "abomination." I can see why he did it so much.

EDIT:

Also, not to be persnickety or start an argument or anything, but I believe you mean "legitimacy," rather than "legibility." Or... well, I can't think of anything else that sounds similar and might make sense, but "legibility" isn't really relevant....

I'M AN ENGLISH MAJOR AND THAT IS MY EXCUSE FOR EVERYTHING NOW.

Persnickety. Also known as pernickety.

Just being, ya know, fastidious...

...''credibility''?
