Re: What sells games?

I would have to say that it would be more likely to be the the storyline maybe with good graphics maybe with bad i could say the same with the gameplay it could be good or it could be bad I dont really care about the graphics or gameplay as long as I enjoy the the story

Re: What sells games?

For Teenagers, the girls that are in the games and their, shall we say, certain appeal that they have. That seems to be selling a lot with games these days.

Also the ever evolving graphics and possibilities with the gameplay is another factor. I guess that is probably the MAIN factor for selling games these days.

Re: What sells games?

I usually go for games with good graphics and character customization

Re: What sells games?

I bought a game the other day called Frontlines fuel of war and I actually enjoyed it even though it was short the graphics were not bad the game play was awsome and the storyline well it wasn't not all that great but it worth the money even though it could have been alot better I also bought condmned 2 on the same day and im still fighting my way through it and I finished the first one within hours I bought it with condemned 2 as a special offer. But what my point is that maybe a game sell of its appeal to a certain person maybe its a FPS, Sports, Stradigy, turn Based, Role playing or maybe a hack N Slash thats what I think a game sells

Re: What sells games?

adventure, action, free roaming, charcater customization, sound, graphics, and graphics, they all must be good, oh and gameplay...like now i have Dark sector and assains creed, i love dark sector, but not too sure about assains creed, though the storyline is intresting...

Re: What sells games?

Immersion
For me it's the main thing. I want to feel like I'm IN the game doing the things that the character is doing. The things that lead to this for me are a great story, awesome graphics and the right music.

Re: What sells games?

the first thing i look at when i am buying a game is its genre. obvious i know, but different ppl like different things, and nothing else matters, if you dont like that kind of game, you arent going to buy it no matter the hype, graphics, gameplay etc.
then i look at the pictures :P. they give me a good idea as to what to expect, and the sub genre. ie fighting -> w/ fists? swords? guns? strange pointed rabbits?
then i read the back, see what they want me to think about the game.

then i put it back as it costs way 2 much for my pittance... :'(
