Re: What?

Sweet our forces are rising...

Well a forum is basically like a communal board.. Like someone puts a want ad in the paper, then someone else answers it.

Hope you understand>.<

Re: What?

Lol, No idea what that means... I get the ad but what does that have to do with a forum?

Re: What?

It isn't instant messaging is what I'm trying to say.

Its something where you can have a huge massive conversation with people all over the world in different timezones!

I meant its like graffiti! Like someone writes something on a desk, like "Hello!" and two days later, checks back and someone else has written "Hi! Wassup?"

^_^

Re: What?

Well, kinda- but with more depth and on-topic subjects...but I know what you mean and nice explanation ^_^

Re: What?

Understand?

Good thing I have a persuasive tongue.

Re: What?

Re: What?

Forums allow for a more in depth thoughtful responses. In a chat room you can't measure your words, research answers, format test include graphics or edit your responses. There is also more permanency the things you post today can be read for months even years. Another thing is the ability to search the forum for information. A forum generally is a slower moving more rich form of communication. It allows for and almost requires more patience.

They are both written forms of online communication consisting of messages and replies.

Imagine trying to type a response like that in a chat room.
