It still comes down to having a person who has a clean bill of health, doesn't use anything, and is well educated on the risks and effects of 'example' drug. If said person still wants to ruin their life, they will whether it's legal or not.

I'm not saying legalizing drugs or not is the way to go, but a person who is going to use knowing the damaging effects... is still going to do so.

It's a personal choice sort of thing. Proper education needs to be administered. Growing up I know that I learned all I know about the drug world from being out in it. Not that I ever got that far because all I do is get stoned but still. I ad to learn that stuff on my own... which in all honesty is not the way it should be.

I won't say what should or shouldn't be done, I just wanna point out raw facts.

I just don't get that you know the dangers of smoking, but you wont quit unless they become apparant to you.
I shouldn't think it would be too hard to grasp. Like anyone with a vice. We're both coffee drinkers so you should understand this one. Coffee increases your risk for cancer, high blood pressure, and increased cholesterol. The high blood pressure at least should be a no brainer, it's an upper drug. Now with that knowledge, are you going to stop drinking coffee tomorrow? Not likely. The short answer is that it serves a purpose in your life.

I don't know if you can really compare coffee to cigarettes when it comes to health risks. And I have one, maybe 2 cups a day, which is far from damaging levels, if I understand correctly.

Like, I get what you're saying, but I'm just surprised that even though you know that you could very likely wake up with asthma (or any number of horrible diseases and conditions), people die from cigarette related causes every minute, but you wont stop unless it happens to you. I find that strange.

Just doing my job, citizen.

Whatever, I get it. You both think my points are void because I'm a smoker.
Would have been better to bring it up straight away if that's what you thought so I could respond or just kept your mouths shut rather than whisper about it like I'm not here.

For shame. Both of you.

Alright, that's not actually what I think. And my comment to Tsuyu wasn't entirely serious.

I don't know you personally, so any comments I make on your reasons for smoking are entirely speculation based on what you've told me, which obviously isn't all the information I need to make any real inference.

You seem like an intelligent guy Cheez, and I don't think you're under hypnosis from nicotine addiction. I think your addiction has probably coloured your decision to keep smoking, but that doesn't make it any less your decision, and I respect that.

Sorry if I offended you

Struck a nerve did I? Nicotine is highly addictive, like it or not. You're not immune and to say that it doesn't affect your decision to keep smoking would be deceiving yourself. However, I'm not saying that your points are null and void because of it, what I'm saying is that you can't ignore the addictive nature of nicotine and it's affect on your judgement in the end.

Nonetheless, I never meant to upset you so I apologize.

Nicotine is addictive and I am addicted. I have no delusions of that. It's not everything though. The first year or so I was not addicted and my decision to keep smoking was the same as it is now, addicted or not.

But fair enough, you two are free to think what you like. I accept your apologies. Let's just all call it water under the bridge.
