Why do people like Drake?

I know you could easily say it's a different taste in music or opinions just differ, but I actually cannot think of anything positive about this mans music.

- His voice is terrible, it's monotone. More mono than music off the Gameboy Colour.
- He can't rap. I wouldn't mind his voice if he could, but he can't.. He basically talks into a microphone.
- He collaborates with terrible artists, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, etc.
- The tune or beat to his songs are usually bad too, simple keyboard beats that get boring after a minute.

I don't mind if people have a different taste in music to me, if people like Eminem I can see why.. But Drake is one of the only artists in the world that I can actually say I despise musically. Do people just like him because everyone else does, even if he's sh*t?

Based on sound alone, I don't get why anyone would enjoy any kind of rap. I mean, certain rap artists have artistic merit to their work in their lyrics, but rap just doesn't sound appealing at all.

Oh yea, and I've never heard of Drake before.

Over sucks. I like Drake about as much as I like other rappers (A slowly growing love, but still at the bottom of my music list) but I love Headlines.

There is no merit in rap or hip hop, why do people like Drake? Dunno. Why do people like Lil Wayne? Dunno. Why do people like Twiztid? Dunno... They all suck.

I mean more like, you always hear about pop, rock, metal, etc on the radio and tv. Why doesn't jazz get the same kind of coverage? When I first started listening to jazz, I was amazed that I'd never heard any of it before.

Yea, seriously, it seems like the only popular stuff these days is electronic crap and dubstep. I mean, that stuff can be fun after a large amount of alcohol and/or marijuana, but that's about it.

I agree. People need to start listening to good rap. Not talented rappers, but rap that sends a good moral message to the youth of today.

I had to google that to find out who it was. But yea, to me, that kind of music is really only good for parties when everyone's f*cked up. There are even numerous works of that genre that I wouldn't even consider real music.

I've gone off rap to be honest, its all I ever used to listen to, I still like Eminem though I can't stand his stupid songs any more, I only like his serious stuff. However I think Hollywood Undead (rap/rock) are probably the only redeemable rappers around at the moment even if they do sing about boats n hoes as well as some serious stuff.
