I mean more like, you always hear about pop, rock, metal, etc on the radio and tv. Why doesn't jazz get the same kind of coverage? When I first started listening to jazz, I was amazed that I'd never heard any of it before.
Unfortunately it's the fact that for some reason - and I really, REALLY, do not understand why - the majority of people apparently prefer meaningless lyrics sung by a voice that needs to be autotuned to sound half decent and instruments that are all noise made a computer wrapped over a nice little tune rather than people who really can sing and have actual talent.
I guess we'll never know why...
... you have rock and metal on your TV and radio?
It is practically extinct up here in the frozen north.
Over here, too. I have to search teh YouTuberz for what I like.
In Merrie Olde Englande we have Kerrang, which is basically a radio station that plays 'Alternative' (as much as I hate the use of that word to describe a genre I feel it's appropriate in this case) stuff like rock, metal, punk and shizzle.
