Work or Starve

Reaver's motto for his company Reaver's Industries is "Work or Starve", I thought it was interesting because John Smith during the first colony when things were going rough said "No work, no food." I thought this was interesting and probably doesn't have anything to do with Reaver but still it rung a bell.


Thoughts?

I still think a far better slogan for Reaver's company would be "Work and Starve. And just before you die, get sacrificed to the Shadow Judges for the benifit of my eternal life."

Not sure it so catchy though.

Work or Starve.... it's a common saying throughout new areas through land. If a new place is colonized, everyone has to have a job or else they're kicked out

Anyways, difference between John Smith and Reaver probably being the J.S. put that idea in place to make the colony more successful. I'm 99.88858% sure Reaver's only doing it for his own benefit (though, obviously that was Smith's intent to an extent, but not so blatant).

Well, its one of those things thats actually good for you, but if your someone like Reaver, you can never the less exploit it to your own will. Both in an ingame and out of game context.

Well in the real world you dont have to work you just live off those who do. Let me tell you there will be no damn welfare checks in my kingdom, thats for sure. If you can work you better be sure you will. Of course I will treat my workers fairly, but no living off me when your perfectly able to get a damn job.

Heh. I'm down with Disability checks, but my kingdom will be prosperous enough my citizens won't have problems finding work. I'm not against factories, but they will be well run, fair, and only men and women of age in safe conditions will be working there.
