The World War I part of The Darkness scared the crap outta me, very well done.

Yeah that played with the mind a little and the enemies were quite intimidating, especially when they kept getting up.

How can you say that? :O The game was superb, story was fantastic and excellently executed. The shooting was satisfying and the execution moves were nice. The Darkness powers were quite nice too, i felt really engrossed in the world and was genuinely shocked in some parts of the game. The online was badly done though, although i havent tried it myself but it was a game made for its single player. Was the first game for some time to get my emotions going, i got genuinely angry at one point in the story, in a good way as thats what you were meant to feel. I cant wait until the sequel comes out, hope it captures the feel of the first and improves on some of the shortcomings.

couldnt have said it better myself. for the people that understood the darkness, it was amazing. i havent been moved like that by a game since the first time i played fable. another game with an amazing story is jade empire. at that one part of the darkness (the shocker at the begining) i felt shocked, heartbroken, and furious:realmad:. i literaly almost cryed. and then the stuff that came afterward confused me, and by the end of the game i was speechless.

I dont remember any shooter really making me feel any emotion or anything towards any of the characters the way The Darkness did. If only the game was longer and the ending was executed a little better. Hopefully the sequel will fix any of the shortcomings of the first. Starbreeze Studios are a severely underrated studio i must say, and i hope they have a hand in making the sequel.
