They actually didn't steal it from Kung Fu Panda. That race has been in WarCraft Lore since W3. In-fact, if you play the Night Elf missions, you'll see them on the sides fishing.

Although, I do have to admit, they definitely made that intro very Kung Fu Panda style, even with the humor.

I dont play wow very often, and I have never played the other warcraft games in the series, only watched others play it, and so I dont know a whole lot about it......

There was also a single map campaign in W3 that included the Pandaren Brewmaster, Chen Stormstout, as one of the heroes.
