Xbox 360 Help.

My Xbox 360 has Gotten REALLY loud lately.. Like creepily loud!

Is this a sign for anything..?

I have never swapped my Xbox, its the first I have had, for about 1-2 years..

Any help?

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

It might be the filter. Or just checck the volume on the t.v. and the xbox (if it has one)

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

Sounds like your fans are working overtime. Make sure it's not overheating (not on the floor, away from walls, etc), because that can lead to RRoD.

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

^ Oh wow, Its on the floor, Leaning near my desk wall.. Hah!

Guess I Should move it then.. Dont want RRoD

Yeah, the floor collects dust and that will clog the fans and whatnot, and having it close to a wall prevents the proper airflow it needs to keep cool. :D

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

Oh My God! I moved it up ontop of the desk, like 1 metre from me, and it is SO Loud!!!!

Abnormally loud... Annoyingly loud in-fact..

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

I'd get a soft brush and go over the vents to try and remove dust and the like. Don't run it for a few hours and see how it goes.

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

yeah overheatage can be a bitch sometimes, make sure you cool it down when summer comes

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

Put it on a TV tray or medium-sized shelf. In the middle of the room is best. When I'm playing Rockband with it setup like that, I play from 8:45am until around 4:00pm and it doesn't get hot at all, and the fan isn't being abnormally loud.

Things to avoid-
-Walls. Blocks off ventilation.
-Standing the 360 up. Blocks off a main ventilation vent.
-Carpets. They retain and circumvent heat back into the 360, and attract dust into it, clogging the fans.
-Cabinets. Same as walls, traps the hot air near the 360.

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

Blast through the sides with a hairdryer set to cold and see if you can get some of that dust out.

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

My friends Xbox has this symptom and it's classic for RRoD. He's actually had it 3 different times on 3 different Xbox 360s... bad luck at it's finest.

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

I juat got 2 Red Rings, then I turned my xbox off and back on.. works fine now. .and a little quieter.. weird..

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

Two is minor overheatage, I believe. At least it's being quieter.

Four rings means loose connection to the power cord. Three is the infamous RRoD. You will never get one red light.

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

Ohhh really? Well thanks for the help.

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

The thing about PS3s, is when they die, all of your memory goes along with it.

Re: Xbox 360 Help.

I got the dryer cold) did what Andy said, I moved it, I got a fan.. It just keeps overheating.. And its at the time when all these awesome games are releasing!
