Xbox 360 - Power Brick Help!

The grey Power Brick has started to make a weird revving noise. Like, a chainsaw or something.*

My xbox works fine but it's just really annoying and is just... irritating.

Has anyone else had a similar problem and does anyone know how to fix it?

* It has nothing to do with me playing to much Gears. Shut up.

ill go ahead and guess that your power cables are all looped and twisty and all that...? try straightening up the cords or move the brick to a new location
and make sure the cables are properly connected and that there are no tears on them or cracks on the brick

i wouldn't worry about it unless it starts to affect what you see on your TV.

UNLESS it isn't under warranty.

If you bought it over 3 years ago you may wanna get involved in a "do-it-yourself" online xbox repair community.

Id do this first, if that doesnt work then look through the FAQ Technical section on Xbox.com and see what they suggest. Is the power brick well ventilated?

I had the same problem when my box was standing up, I was so afraid that it would crush my disc that I turned if off and put it in a horizontal position :p

Thanks for your help. I'll try it all now.

It's well ventilated.
Sorted out the wires.

The noise stopped. ^_^
