Microsoft has launched a Refer-a-Friend scheme on Xbox Live. Joystiq have posted the official rules and what you stand to gain:
  • Get your free member friend to go Gold and (1) you and your friend will each get 400 Microsoft Points* or (2) 600 Microsoft Points*, depending on the active offer.
  • Get your free member friend to go Gold and (3) you and your friend will get a multiplayer Xbox Live Arcade game of Microsoft's choosing.
  • Get your free member friend to try Gold with a promotional token good for 1 month of Gold, and (4) if your friend redeems the token within 30 days, you'll get 200 Microsoft Points*.

Recruiters can refer up to five friends per day, until the promotion ends on July 1.

Each recruiter is eligible to receive all four of the offers once during that time. Any foul play ("using multiple/different email addresses, Xbox Live accounts, identities, registrations and logins" etc.) will be grounds for disqualification, but you won't be banned from Xbox Live.
"Tokens to download points will expire on December 31, 2011. Once downloaded, promotional points will expire on June 30, 2012."

jesus christmas. soon i'm going to start getting emails from advertisers and advertisements on my dashboard already there.
you know, if they keep adding features like this i'm just going back to xbox connect. it was free, and the amount of modded games floating around was glorious. you could even play halo 1 over the internet.

keeping all games as they were created = boring

playing a game of dodgeball with rocket launchers that fire warthogs at insane speeds = fun

playing a game of cat and mouse where the rules are enforced by more than forge = fun

playing a game of anything where microsoft won't crap themselves because people want to break the rules to have some fun amongst themselves would be an improvement.

i'll admit it's something that the computer platform still has to lord over consoles....unless it's XBOX Connect.

Aw, it ended 6 days ago. :(
... a bit too late, isn't? XBL has been around for aeons now, everyone I could possibly refer has already had XBL gold for ages.
What about me? I've been silver for ages!
