Droded, your lust for a bigger and better e-schlong is both sad and dissapointing.

What, the acclaim of your peers isn't enough?

Droded, your lust for a bigger and better e-schlong is both sad and dissapointing.

You know what else is both sad and disappointing? Putting over 6 hours of work into a comic for a complete stranger only for them to not only never say "Thank you" but to give me rep 'purely' because I drew the top of a flag correctly.

You know what else is both sad and disappointing? That after spending 4 years of my life on a forum trying to be both helpful and funny with every post I make for the praise of the other members on the forum in the form of "Reputation", it gets taken away in an instant with no scrap of evidence I ever had any in the first place.

You know what else is both sad and disappointing? Being slated for wanting evidence of recognition.

I regret drawing you first.

What, the acclaim of your peers isn't enough?

Nope. Otherwise I would show them to my peers.

Although I love these comics, I'd just like to say that I completely understand and support Droded's decision. It may even lead to a similar decision of my own.

I decided I wouldn't post any new comics until a Rep system was restored.

I'd only post more if I had a guarantee people would come back and "Like" my other comics as well if I post them before that system is fixed
To be fairly honest, and I honestly don't mean any offence toward you: I think that's completely off the chart. This shows that you care for the reputation (or likes, whatever) you receive than actually doing the work and/or having fun with others. Basically, wanting to attract people and expect them to give you a reward even if such isn't available.

Again no offence, but my view on it.

Droded, I apologize that you did not appreciate the irreverent form which my gratitude for your artwork took, and I apologize that you regret making your comic of me. I also apologize that you have lost the only tangible form of recognition that you recieve for this, and I apologize that you don't consider your fellow forum-members to be your peers.

While I'm at it, I also apologize that the preceding apologies sound, even to my ears, incredibly insincere, yet I hope that you take them in the conciliatory manner which they are offered, rather than as provocation.

Furthermore, I apologize for my initial comment, which violated the Thumper Rule of Forum Sanity, "Thou shalt say nothing at all if thoust can say nothing nice," and formally retract my statement that you are "sad and dissapointing."

Also, I would like to point out, again without meaning to cause any offense, that the finial is the finicky metal bit on top of the flag pole, rather than the actual top of the flag. Which, presumably, you know, but my flag-nerd's compulsion for, well, flag-nerdiness means that I am forced to make that comment as a result of my unnatural lusts for all things vexillogical.

On a further note, I would like to point out that I misspelled the word "disappointing," as I am prone to do, and have been haunted by that ever since I noticed it five seconds ago as I copy/pasted the relevant portion of my initial comment.

EDIT: Also, I realize this sounds passive-aggressive and bitchy, but I'm really bad at apologizing. And the alternative was starting an argument.

The last two of my messages in this thread were posted after a long day while I was both stressed in real life as well as sleep deprived.

Please dismiss them as the simple rantings of an idiot.

I'm happy that my friends and fellow members here like the comics I've drawn, which is why I'm mostly doing these comics for fun as well as to spread happiness here. (It is also a way to practice drawing I suppose)

That isn't to say that Reputation isn't important to me - consider it a sort of intangible payment to keep me going, a pat on the back from people who like my comics enough to "pay" me for them. By no means am I forcing anyone to give me anything, I just thought it would be a better idea as I'd hate for some of my work to be left unnoticed and under-appreciated because a reward system isn't set up yet.

And of course you shouldn't have to apologise, or say "Thanks" for that matter.

You didn't ask to be drawn, that was my decision.

I can understand why you view that, and honestly it would be foolish to think that I don't care about Reputation - If I didn't care about it, then I would have had it disabled when I first joined. Just because you don't seem to care about it doesn't mean that it's "Completely off the chart!!!" if other people do - this is a completely benevolent and free service, and if people want to give me something more than a simple "This made me laugh" then I feel the option should be available.

The post you quoted was poorly phrased on my part, and I apologise for the poor english I used.

What I meant to say was that I don't want the comics I post to be overlooked because of there not being an appropriate system - if there wasn't going to be a replacement to rep then I would happily post away while grieving for those years I lost trying to be entertaining and respectful of others even if they didn't always deserve it. But as it is, it looks like there's going to be a new "Like" system and it would certainly brighten my day if people were to "Like" my comics because their days were hopefully brightened by me posting something new.

I will post the next comic soon regardless of whether or not there's a replacement reward system in place.

Hopefully people will read back one day and they will smile knowing that I'm happy if they are happy.

Like system? What is this, facebook?

Reputation is important, not "Rep". It's fair for others to think about how others see them, even if you don't care how you're perceived. (Unless it's the Staff here you're trying to impress, amirite Gakoyu?)

Proof that the liking system isn't working, I just liked that post a billion times and it hasn't showed up.

Very well. I guess that clears it up. :)

I am obviously referring to the reputation system that vBulletin provided--and that which Droded was talking about, not reputation of one another. But, I shouldn't have to explain it if you bothered reading the posts above, right? And there is nothing to impress. Unless there is something I had missed? If so, do mind elaborating.

Acting like an animal is a frowned upon trait, and only dogs lick arses.

Note: I know other animals lick arses, I'm making a direct comparison. No need to jump on the lingo.

Dogs aren't filthy animals. They're as cute as a kitten (well, kittens are tad more cute).

well, i wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy as it doesn't eat it's own feces. i'd call a dog dirty. dogs got personality, and personality goes a long way.
