I also enjoy the Nancy Drew games for PC for something different then just playing shooter games all the time. Some are really freaky and the puzzles will make your brain hurt.

I was actually just thinking of Alan Wake as a suggestion! I've never played it myself, but my boyfriend has it and I've watched him play a couple times. It looks pretty cool and I definitely plan on snagging it when he's done. It doesn't have a TON of action, but it's the kind of game that will definitely give you the creeps (since you mentioned being into horror games) and the story line seems pretty good.

I freaking love the nancy drew games. I havent played the last couple, but I own up to Haunting of castle Malloy. :) Adam, my boyfriend, got Metro 2033 but it looks entirely too hard. Glad to hear your thoughts on Alan Wake though. Def gonna pick it up now.

agreed, mass effect is ****ing awesome. i didn't recommend it because if i recall correctly you are forced into the role of a customizable male protagonist. i could be wrong, but that's how i remember it.

You can choose to be a female Sheperd. But yeah, both Mass Effects are thoroughly awesome. Mass Effect 2 is better.

Ehem, I heard that Gears of War is a pretty cool game for ladies. You get to execute aliens and do stuff.

Re: Girls Girls Girls

Sorry! Thanks for all the great ideas. I've never played Portal. I did a quick Wiki, since I'd heard of it, but never played. I think a friend owns it, I may borrow it to see what I think. I enjoy puzzle games. I'm toying with possibly getting Alan Wake. Has anyone played this? I made a list of all of the rest of the games that's been mentioned- and will rent/try out them and let you know what I think.

Thanks a lot for all the great responses.
My wife plays Alan Wake, it's a dark theme. Kind of creepy ( Her words).
She enjoys Portal, good thinking game.

Diner Dash... there's also Cooking Mama.

Lol.

Thing that makes this funnier is I'm semi-serious about these suggestions.

I heard when you play a female character, you start off with a skillet and spatula.
