Scamming.

We've received several reported posts regarding scamming over XBL. There's however nothing we can do about it; we can't punish the member because it is your word against his/her.

Use your common sense when trading, if a deal seems to good to be true it most likely is.

Like what? "I'll give you all 50 weapons if you give me that and that first"?

Mostly it's been "Give me X and I'll give you my DLC code!".

I'd also like to point out that post count and time here are good to watch out for - if the trader has been here a while, and has alot of posts, chances are he's legit, but if it's one guy that's just joined up to get your code, I'd be a bit wary.

Unless you're trading with somebody that you actually know on these forums, I recommend that nobody trades without an extremely trustworthy middleman (like projectego, or any other staff member here) or unless the person you're trading with is offering to give their code first. Those are my personal trading rules.

Evil Scammers.... I got scammed once out of an inquisitor sword code... guy even kept apologizing and saying he had no idea the code was used and he never used. A quick call to Microsoft confirmed that it was his gamertag who has used it. Ah well I was still able to get ALL the DLC

That's something i've been considering. I know i'm a newbie here (or peasant....Tyrant Lord) myself, but i have a few items i'd be willing to trade, long hair for example (great for looking like Jesus). After reading through the forums, i found quite a few people need it but most asking for it, generally also had a low post count or were new and put me off helping them. Any tips on choosing a newbie to help? Are the community generally an honest bunch?

yes, you need to be careful. there are alot of Hazers lurking the forums unregistered.

PS: Id be willing to trade anything i can. i am only using 2 out of the 50 weapons

Have to jump in here real fast and clear Hamish strachan's name.
I traded one of my Inquisitor Sword codes for Hamish strachan's Champion Hammer code.
He gave his code first, I then gave mine. Everything went smoothly.

TL;DR Hamish strachan is NOT a scammer.
